Fractal Audio Firmware Update Thread

Looks like you can't as I just found it as a feature request on the forum. I'll test tonight though

Thanks for checking it out. I know in the block tools(?) menu on device you can shift blocks up/down/l/r and was thinking copying blocks wasn't available last I looked.

Hmm, I think that’s just for the Copy function, I’m not sure about the blocks though. It’d be surprising if the blocks were only available via AxeEdit……WHAT IF I’M AT A GIG AND REALIZE I NEED VAI’S DELAY SET TO 23% Mix instead of 30%?!?!? WHAT AM I GONNA DO AT THE GIG

That's what I figured. I assume you can import them into various presets, save the presets then copy the blocks to other presets when you are away from AxeEdit?
I don't think you can. But a work-around could..., save the whole preset that has the block you want to "copy" to a new location, then delete everything except that block, and build from there. I think that should work, although once you start working with that new preset, you wouldn't be able to copy other blocks into it. So it would only work for that one block, and then you'd have to know just how you want to set up the rest of the preset. So, probably not a very practical use.

I believe Matt said it would go longer.

Yup. Mentioned how he was surprised by the level of generosity from the artists
and ended up with more than they expected.

One of the cool things is some of these GOTs have pushed me out of my Marshall
trench I have dug for myself and will go back to, no doubt. Most excited about the
IRs, to be honest, because I can plop those in with different amps and push, "Go!" :banana

Funny you should say that!

Because the Fanton GoT got me out of my Fender trench and into the cleanish Bognor Shiva, which I've been meaning to try for a long time. Great stuff 🙂

Awesome! That man loves them Bogners!! :)

Missed out on band practice the past 2 weeks due to the flu going around
and our drummer getting his knee scoped. I am gonna be off the chains trying
out all of these "new to me" tones if and when we get together again. :banana

It really struck me as odd that you can't copy blocks on the devices themselves with Fractal. Seems like such an obviously necessary ability to have.
It would certainly be a nice addition. I don't ever want to futz with an editor if I can help it.

Hey, on that topic: I recently ended my "haven't owned a computer in over 10 years" stretch and bought a MacBook! :)

Funny thing is, I STILL PREFER EDITING AMPS AND EFFECTS ON THE FM9 ITSELF... :rofl

So I'm using the Mac to navigate/manage presets and quickly edit the Speaker tab, but still using the FM9 to adjust amp and pedal settings. I just like real knobs so much better.

Well at least you can get ahold of those sweet sweet updates more easily now!

Congrats 🙂

Good for you! I agree with you 100% for on device editing. I am never dragging a laptop to a gig for editing. I want to be able to do as much as possible on the device itself.
