Agreed! Ahh…nostalgia. I guess we are getting old. But those album and cd release parties were awesome.While I still prefer the old way of experiencing an album; getting it on release day and listening to it in it’s entirety with headphones or a great system, the only time I buy physical CD’s are when a band is selling them at a live show. And even then, they all ended up in a bin and the only thing I can stick a CD into now is my Macbook.
I definitely miss the days of reading the liner notes and all the Thank You’s (used to be the only way to get insight into the gear used unless the guitarists was in a guitar mag discussing it!) and artwork. Artwork I especially miss; I’d stare at the Floyd CD booklets for hours because so much creativity went into them.
It was a strange day when I sold all my CDs in a garage sale. What else am I going to do with them? My MacBook and iMac don’t even have CD slots anymore, LOL.
