Fractal Audio Firmware Update Thread

I love the Vai blocks (big surprise). Getting this tone makes me want to actually learn one of his songs, like instead of making up the sh*t I couldn't figure out like I did in high school. I found a Vai-ish backing track on youtube and noodled over it a bit. 15 year old me is trippin' out.

Holy Frack Drew, sounds amazing very Vai'ish, great playing !!!
Tone is in the edibles :rofl

This was really good Drew! Definitely Vai-inspired!

I think it will be Petrucci FX library like VAI
If they go to almost New Years probably another 9 to go
That would be SO cool. Even though we have the "Petrucci Rig" preset, which Cooper (who sets up his Axe) has said was straight from John's unit, I'd be very surprised if it hasn't had some tweaks by now. You know, like a 2nd preset? Lol (For those that don't know, he only uses 1.)

If it's like a typical advent calendar, it would only go to Christmas (Dec 25). So 6 more to go.

That's my guess.

Is the block library stored locally on the device itself or is it just available when using Axe-Edit?
Yeah it's actually stored on your computer in a folder of your choosing. Then, as you said, you reference it via Axe-Edit or FM9 Edit, etc.

I had my library with a bunch of Leon Todd's blocks (3-4 blocks per effect type, which was nice) - then just recently dragged/dropped the Vai blocks in. It's really cool to be able to call up a Delay, and then look in the block library drop-down to pick some "preconfigured delays" - which may be others, or may be my own personal favs.

That's what I figured. I assume you can import them into various presets, save the presets then copy the blocks to other presets when you are away from AxeEdit?

That's a great question. I don't know for sure - I have been doing my preset creation on FM9 Edit. Then just tweaking parameters on-device using the Performance Pages (which is a godsend, honestly - pretty genius). I know you can copy/past blocks in FM9 Edit, but not sure if you can do the same on-device only.

Maybe a more experienced user can chime in with the answer...

Looks like you can't as I just found it as a feature request on the forum. I'll test tonight though
