Fractal Audio Firmware Update Thread

It’s gotta be a volume thing and how it sounds through their PA, didn’t matter which guitar I used, even my JEM sounded like it had a blanket on it. And yeah, I heard those Jackson’s way a ton. The dude Alex who runs the Groomed Noodlers group on FB got to check out his rig a couple months back, he’s got a single cut that looks like it has a neck twice the size of my Strat neck and you could tell the thing weighed about 15lbs when he picked it up.

That’s how Phil stays in shape, just pickin’ up his f*cking guitars. :ROFLMAO:

I liked it, and I live on biting Marshalls. :idk

Does Fractal Have a Pultec EQ ?
I noticed some Plugins have them, none on the Helix, was wondering if FAS has one ?

I made wishlist thread about Fractal modeling outboard studio gear. I was told there are
already preamps and comps.

I still wish. I think it would be legendary if Cliff turned his focus away from amps for a bit
and modeled an LA-2A, a Pultec, or even some epic Never channel strips from some epic
consoles. He could apply the same logic/methodology of his modeling approach and set
the world on fire again.

The block library thing is awesome... I find FX settings to be something I can often use from other folks' presets unlike amp or cab settings. I'm sure Vai has some awesome stuff.

One of the things I like least about the Fractal stuff is that the FX are not really emulations of specific things (for the most part) and there is no 'authentic' mode like the amps now have. So you feel like you are always deep editing them. Over time, I've built up a pretty nice library of blocks using info from the forum, my own experiments, and others' presets. This'll be a lot of fun to explore.

I made a thread about. It goes something like this..... .

Could not agree more!

It could take the Axe-Fx to the next level. Truly an all in one modeling box you could use
for recording purposes. Use it on bass, vocals, acoustic guitars. I am getting all teary-eyed
thinking about it.

I don't want to sound too needy now, though. Fractal is still the benchmark, in my opinion,
and they are being super generous with their time and their artist stable. :beer

The Vai blocks were surprisingly straight forward. Dual delay, 10k hi-cut, no modulation. The 4th pitch thingy was really cool.
Damit, it's in the fingers, AGAIN.
That’s what I have noticed on a lot of these you expect to see some crazy routing 4 eqs , 3 delays
When you look at the presets many are quite simple wah drive amp cab
Delay , it is pretty eye opening and humbling

Yup. Even on my FM3 most of these artist presets are only tickling the 60% CPU threshold.

Are they trying to send a message to the Kitchen Sink Preset guys who always need more
CPU? Maybe. ;)

Yes since right after Halloween w Cygnus 2.0 it’s been a lot of damn fun love my FM9 no gas for any other modellers at all

It's truly amazing and so super cool and fun. Very impressive.

I know Cliff and the company are just laser-focused and self-driven anyway, but one has to wonder if they're also extra-motivated by just how badly they can leave Neural/QC in the dust with product development and updates. It's gotta be fun…

I love the Vai blocks (big surprise). Getting this tone makes me want to actually learn one of his songs, like instead of making up the sh*t I couldn't figure out like I did in high school. I found a Vai-ish backing track on youtube and noodled over it a bit. 15 year old me is trippin' out.
