Fractal Audio Firmware Update Thread

I started doing some housecleaning in my III today because my user presets are getting out of hand. If I build a preset on one guitar, if I want to use that preset with a different guitar I’ll copy it to another location and label it ‘JPIIC+ Edwards‘ or ‘Superlead Gilmour Strat’, with each guitar sounding different from one another, I end up wanting to tweak the preset to best fit the guitar so in some cases I have 4 presets that are just variations of the same thing, there’s probably around 120 user presets right now, then all the Austin Buddy amps.

I've literally got 3 presets on my Axe III and 5 on my Helix!

With HX stuff; it's even probably more of a reason to have a clean slate. There is NOTHING in any of those factory presets I want in my presets. Stock amp tones are usually not good to my ears and I use my own IRs and favorited fx blocks.

Honestly, I feel like that about pretty much most devices. The stock Fractal presets for my needs are pretty trash. Way too vintage sounding, a lot of them smothered in effects that fit better at a church than a grotty London metal venue, and some of them are obviously just "here's a proof of concept preset to illustrate the features" - which is all fine. But I don't use any of them.

Even the H90 has pretty crap presets. I think the best presets I've come across in my years were the BigSky, Timeline, and DD-500.

Agreed. Though I like the pre tweaked effects chains you get with FAS presets. With FAS; I want the routing stuff already setup. I am not a fan of recreating things on there especially if they are already done for you. Helix is dead simple so it's easy to setup a convoluted signal chain and configure switching without the editor.

Doesn’t everyone in London just want to hear “How Soon Is Now” over and over? I think there’s a FAS factory preset for that!
