Fractal Audio Firmware Update Thread

I think it’s a cool idea. I like Leon Todd’s presets in general , and his free cabs as always.

Marco’s as well. Which sound fantastic from the sample i heard. And probably all the others that come along.

I just dont want any post processing tones that dont match the actual presets.

I appreciate the effort of fractal and the artists to give freely to our community !!!!

It is super cool to see how others are coming up with tones and being able to use them.

Totally agree. I'll be honest, I didn't like Fluff's but it does say it's his Live setting so maybe it just needs cranked

I think they are going through the "alumni" right now. They did mention artist presets and Bellamy would be fantastic

Jk Fluff is an artist, totally spaced on that
The big guns will likely be the last week before Christmas
Then you might see Muse , Def Leppard , Govan etc
But there are many still before them I suspect
You still have Thorn, Austin Buddy
Freman , Brett Kingman, Cooper Carter

Metallica would for sure be one of the most requested but they are pretty secretive about their tones

Phil Colleen and Viv from Leppard were mentioned last time they did the artist series. So the JMP 1 preamp tones are possible

Synester Gates is another one of most requested but I think he sells his cab ir and presets on a personal site so that might be a no

One I would love to see is York audio all the clips he does matching amps are great so a preset maybe matching a few amps and a custom IR would be awesome

Let me ask you guys something, when you hear these presets on YouTube and then you download them and try them do you all find the sound the same? very close? or not really what you heard?
Inquiring minds want to know

As in do the amp models sound the same? No not really

If you are asking do the tones in the video transfer to what I hear, yes for the most part. Now if I pick up a LP when the guy in the video is using a strat, no (which is to be expected). But if I'm using a guitar with similar output pickups, yes it's pretty spot on

well im not so sure its only the pickups consider what i observed recently, is that what speaker/ Cab/ output source is what the preset creator used to create the tone, if one plays back the preset on a differnt cab, amp or "FRFR" they will all sound different unless you using same as the content creator
but thats just my theory :idk

A little while ago someone asked me why a given preset I had posted didn't sound the same on their rig. I posted a clip playing through the preset as well as a DI and got them to reamp my DI with the same preset on their rig. Funnily enough the clips sounded identical.

Different guitars/pickups/strings/picks/technique all contribute to the end result. I also think players underestimate how much the acoustic sound of their guitar strings right near their head contributes to what they hear when playing amplified.

I agree Leon but what i mean is that not all patches are created equally some that i download are very close some are close and some are not even close :idk
