Fractal Audio Firmware Update Thread

Yep. Also, he’s pretty hardcore on MIDI so wouldn’t not be surprised if the added flexibility on the Fractal side played a role. The synth stuff was nice as well on the video.
Just watched another video where he stated neural reached out to them and asked them to try the QC out at the beginning of the tour. I'm sure they tossed some $$$ their way.

Essentially they leveraged him to do a couple YouTube rig rundown videos, and give them some feedback after a couple shows.

Has there ever been more musician-whoring than there is now?

I remember a day when a desperate musician would lower his standards
and give lessons to supplement gig money. OMG! Shocking! Now musicians
are wearing signs, "Rent This Space," and place it over their hearts and heads.

Umm I think George Lynch is an old timer , he was whoring more than
A porn shoot 10 years ago
His long list is pretty impressive
ESP , Seymour Duncan , ADA
Zoom , Genz Benz , Morley
Two notes , REH video
Kramer , Randall
He would have probably whored more if he wasn’t under contract

Haha! Touche'.

He confessed to losing his ESP endorsement deal for a year after
getting caught playing a PRS on the 1st Lynch Mob Tour.

In George's defense I would say that he often had some kind of signature piece of gear
that would not have existed without him----versus the traveling, ad hoc salesmen of
the current guitar milieu who peddle the wares with "no direct affiliation" with the
manufacturer/retailer.

George had relationships. They may have ended, but they were relationships. Now it's
more akin to one-night stands. Repeated one-night stands. Never-ending, "This
video contains promotional material," one-night stands.

I bought a Randall RG100ES because of George and Vivian. A Kramer Baretta
because of George and Vivian. I still own a Lynch Dragon Wah, too.

Some Wh*res you just end up falling in love with. :chef

Yeah. I remember going to a George Lynch guitar clinic or something like that at a music store in the early 00's. Some acoustic guitar company was paying him to promote their guitars so he played everything, including Mr. Scary, on an acoustic. Someone in the audience yelled out something about playing an electric and George responded along the lines of having a family to feed.

There's a great Tone Talk episode where George and Jeff open up about "endorsements" and "artist deals"
and how they often hated what they were forced to record and tour with.

I don't think they feel bad about what they did, though. Like you said. George had a wife and kids unlike
a lot of other players at the time. The Randalls are all over Tooth and Nail. George mentions using an Aria
12-string on Without Warning just to satisfy their artist deal.

I'm pretty happy that I can be just a hobbyist and not have to make a living through music. It's a tough industry these days. It used to be that your aim was to get signed by a record label who would throw you into a studio to write and record an album, have a manager figure out tours, sales of records mattered etc.

Now? You are looking at writing your whole album beforehand, paying for a bit of studio time to get it professionally recorded (if you don't just do it yourself at home), your competition is the whole world, your record sales are largely a pittance from Spotify, iTunes etc and your real money comes from gigs and any sidegigs you might have - which could be making YT videos and promoting guitar gear on your downtime.

I don't think there's anyone that gets close to the amount of stuff Zakk Wylde promoted back in the day. The only thing he probably didn't have is signature toilet paper.
