What are we watching now?

Deadwood might just be my favorite of all of these "hour per" series. If you ever have a chance to watch the bonus materials with director commentary/ interviews, it's worth your time.

American Primeval doesn't have the scope or depth of Deadwood, but the characters and locations are very compelling. I think you'll dig it. Plus it's a very limited commitment at 6 hours.

First episode was an absolute blast. But I don't really like the turn the main character has taken, and there are a lot of subplots taking up bandwidth. I hope they reel it in and regain the tone and pacing they struck at the beginning. Anyway, good enough to keep me on the treadmill. :)

Have you seen The English? If you dug American Primeval it is very similar. Probably
better shot with a tad more light. AP was a bit bleak---in trying to match the darkness
of the subject matter.

I think I mentioned it elsewhere.... but the core events that American Primeval were based
on actually happened. I was curious, and then I was all WT actual F!??!! :(

No shit! :brick

I really wish this site would continue to give notifications to threads I've posted in. I miss a thread, then have to read through 6 pages to catch up.

I have some new suggestions to check out for sure though!

Check your other folders and spam. Might have been filtered there on accident.

I sometimes miss clicking on a thread when there are many notifications at once, and I won't catch up for a long while until I remember about that thread later. I use the XenForo dark theme, and it can be easy not to catch the difference between a read and unread post in the alert pop up.

Another thing that irks me is when you open the notifications and half of them automatically appear as “read” when you haven’t even clicked on that particular notification.

Oh yeah, that only happens with likes. I don't think that's necessarily a bad idea though, because I often don't need to click on those to know what people are responding to. Maybe providing the option to go either way with those would be good for some people.

This is super dumb, cheesy, and hilarious as fuck. Props to the participants and the judges. :beer

Trust me, if you watch you will LOL for real. And cower in shame and disgust. :chef

Have you ever entered a "Guitar Contest?" :idk

Royal Rumble 2025. So far, the women's Royal Rumble was abysmal. I won't spoil it, but I can't stand the winner and wish WWE would stop pushing her.

Fringe, Season 4. I just scored the whole series in digital format. This is my 5th time through. My favorite TV series. 😊

Anna Torv is always impressive.

I couldn't watch Mindhunter as it's too violent for me, but loved the way she acted. It felt so natural. She nailed her "academic" look really well.

The first season where we don't know much about the observers is the best.

My favourite episode of fringe is the one in which they find the boy living underground. So touching.

I enjoyed Blink Twice, and given the subject matter appreciated that they didn’t go super gratuitous and extended with those scenes like many films do

We bought some Xena DVD box sets from a local video store some time back. Now we finally started watching. So far, fun cheesy stuff!
