Randall Smith Gone From Mesa Boogie/Gibson?

Anyone thinking that Fluffs contract (regardless of how big or small, especially with how he’s described in his own words being “blacklisted”) wasn’t EXTREMELY detailed and iron clad is capable of some dreaming that I wish I could achieve

This is Gibson we’re talking about, cmon guys

He needs to calm TF down with the "blacklisted" thing too . It's not a good idea to double down when you mess up. Especially with a company that has lawyers on payroll and looking for ways to occupy their day. They absolutely have a breach of confidentiality claim on him. And the bright YTbers creating videos about it are making free evidence of brand damage to beef up their case.

I wouldn't be surprised if an apology/clarification video pops up in the future if Gibson turns up the heat. He's getting off easy so far.

On the bright side for Fluff, even an apology video still = more revenue

“All press is good press” is an ancient phrase, but when it comes to “influencers” that holds an even bigger reality

I wonder how long Randall is going to continue doing these fireside chats. I’ve thrown them on in the background while working and there are some great stories in there.

Living in an increasingly distributed world, it almost feels fairy tale-esque when he talks about the immense collection of musicians he had access to through proximity and chance being where he was in California at that period.

Given his age he also seems like he’s still mentally sharp, which is great to see.

Latest conspiracy in the the FB groups is that the "top guys" that Randall gave majority control of the company to are an evil cabal that betrayed RS and forced him into going along with the Gibson sale to line their own pockets and force the old guy out :idk

Those amps were for sale for nearly 20 years each and there are over 20000 of each out there. I love my Mark III, but it’s not an amp I’d expect them to ever reissue, same with the IV. I’d like them to get back to forward thinking with amps and keep coming up with new ideas.

No. Not in Europe. And not for good prices. Maybe in the US, but I don't live there.

You might want to sit down if you think you’re going to get a decent price on any new Mesa in Europe…I’ve got bad news for you.

Why? New prices are fine. But the used prices are like 75-100% of the price of new. One is even trying to sell a JP2C for 125% of the price of it new. Why would I buy used then? Better to buy new.

The used market for Mesa in Europe is completely crap. Hence your comment about there being 20.000 made is not really applicable here in Europe.

My apologies, I must be mistaken. It seemed like for quite a while there was a ton of chatter about Mesa’s overseas pricing.

I made no such comment. Different user.

That's the current situation with Marshall in the US..

Marshall's US pricing has been INSANE. I think I saw they are switching distributors or something so hopefully that gets better. The dual reverb being $2k is laughable.
The prices went down already. But the amps disappeared from the stores completely.
The 100w JCM800 is $2100 now, down from 3200. Which would be great, except there's none available anywhere in the past 6 months. Then on Reverb people are trying to sell used ones for $2500..
