Randall Smith Gone From Mesa Boogie/Gibson?

Some of the MIJ "Orville" Gibsons beat the US line by a good margin. Tokai, Burny (Fernandes), high end Edwards... same deal. They can't sell them in the US market for good reason.

Same thing happened with Fender in the 80s, the MIJ guitars were killing the MIA at half the price. Fender pulled them out too.

Japanese manufacturing is the real deal. They're probably the number one country for quality standards.

Of course we can get into being upset about Gibsons litigious tendencies but I think they’re in the right most of the time (not always)

Don’t get me started on that Jericho twat. Whining about his 1:1 aesthetic rip offs is one thing but when he started trying to claim “Gibson hackers” deleted his kids sporting events from his calendars it became supremely apparent that he was full of shit
It's how US trademark laws are setup. Defend it or lose it. I doubt companies would bother suing people selling maybe 30 guitars a month if they didn't have to. But they have to.

There's a little company in Chicago right now making some killer Vs for a great price. So far they managed to fly under the radar. I want to get one before the party is over 😆 Iron Label guitars.

I work in an industry where IP is very important. The documents we have to sign are biblically thick and our laptops go into an over the top gun safe at the end of the day

Which makes all of this fluff stuff even more humorous to me :rofl

Yeah I'm a data analyst so I deal with a lot of sensitive information including HR related. I am mandated to attend information security training twice an year, then also have sign a book worth of "Don't do it or else"

Anyone thinking that Fluffs contract (regardless of how big or small, especially with how he’s described in his own words being “blacklisted”) wasn’t EXTREMELY detailed and iron clad is capable of some dreaming that I wish I could achieve

This is Gibson we’re talking about, cmon guys

He needs to calm TF down with the "blacklisted" thing too . It's not a good idea to double down when you mess up. Especially with a company that has lawyers on payroll and looking for ways to occupy their day. They absolutely have a breach of confidentiality claim on him. And the bright YTbers creating videos about it are making free evidence of brand damage to beef up their case.

I wouldn't be surprised if an apology/clarification video pops up in the future if Gibson turns up the heat. He's getting off easy so far.

On the bright side for Fluff, even an apology video still = more revenue

“All press is good press” is an ancient phrase, but when it comes to “influencers” that holds an even bigger reality

I wonder how long Randall is going to continue doing these fireside chats. I’ve thrown them on in the background while working and there are some great stories in there.

Living in an increasingly distributed world, it almost feels fairy tale-esque when he talks about the immense collection of musicians he had access to through proximity and chance being where he was in California at that period.

Given his age he also seems like he’s still mentally sharp, which is great to see.
