Modelers Losing Their Luster

Nobody is wrong for wanting an amp added to an amp modeling platform regardless of how similar it is to another amp. The job of these companies is to excite its user base. People have attachments to their amps of choice, so it’s logical they may enjoy having them on their modeler.

Was the Fractal lacking Marshall amps two weeks ago? People sure seem awfully happy about the new 800 though.
This. Tired of people saying I can get "X tones from Y amp" where X != Y when people talk about what they'd like to see modeled. It's pretty bad on the FAS forum because no one wants to ever admit anything is imperfect, ever in FAS land. :p

One of the benefit of these digital devices for serious gear hounds is the virtual NAD dopamine hits that keep GAS at bay.

A rebadged model would be unethical, too and if it were to get out would ruin the company's rep. IMHO. Esp, given Fractal's rep for total accuracy and that Cliff is known to measure individual amps for modeling purposes.

Fun idea: It'd be cool if the Axe had a 'part tolerance' parameter that scrambled the deep settings/virtual parts within some range to give the variation between specimens effect.

Yet when the difference between "I saw this amp on YT today and I want it for free in digital form" amp du jour is basically nothing compared to an existing model, is there a point in having a model that says "I am a model of this amp"? Fractal can't buy and painstakingly test every amp that comes out.

I could make the Morgan AC-20 Deluxe sound pretty much identical to my Victory VC35 without doing any advanced tweaking, so if Fractal wanted they could add the Victory by basically copy&pasting the AC20 12AX7 Treble model, and giving it a different name. People would just go "oh sweet, brand new amp model, so accurate!"

It might make sense for Fractal to add some sort of capture feature just to shut up all the people who are constantly crying for new amp models. It's more "I want it! Next week I want something else because a YouTuber told me about this awesome new amp!" rather than "This amp model would add new sounds to the unit". I think we are way past that already. Healthy library, as you say!
what I really wish for is to have my personal Jose or Friedman asking me questions about how I want to tweak a circuit and then do it. With the new GenAI stuff it's not impossible. Same with a studio engineer plugin that I can say "hey make it sound like it has more wapoosh but less squirrels" and it just works.

Pretty sure Revalver does this - or at least used to, on its previous encarnation.

DOESNT boss do their own models and not really say its a fender or marshall or whatever?

Call me nuts..... but relative humidity (or lack thereof) has a definite and decided impact on how we perceive sound.
Not nuts, dry air attenuates sound more than moist air. It also travels faster when humid…

And since y’all like graphs so much…

As pathetic or hippie-ish as it may seem to some, every bit this! Because they're still starving (est. 25k people dying of hunger every day, around 18k kids among them).

Pix of the GT or it's a used OG Rockman (which is how I picture the T3 signature rig).
i dont take pics OF my gear..I did like the gt-1 screen and would have liked to see a screen like that on the gtx100 amp as it was bright and clear. The gt1000 x amps were vg to me but i didnt care for boss/roland gui much in the end and the screen wasnt as clear as i expected. I also had the katana which i sold to get the artist but thought the artist(ver1) didnt sound as good to me as the katana(ver1) i had...So i was sad i sold the katana to fund the artist but didnt want to rebuy and returned the artist.

So you know what.. modellers ARE losing a bit of their luster for me at the moment. I really just can't be fucked with all of the tweaking and dealing with blocks and pages and menus and settings and spdif reamp and all the rest of the clever shit. I just want to plug into a DD3 and a high-gain amp!

Didn’t you just do a 3 Diezel shoot out?
I totally relate, yesterday i dusted off my Ax8, and ran it power amp to Ox and cab, and while it was fun wallowing in mondo gain without pedals, plugin subsequently into amps and even UAFX pedal is simply more fun for me.
