Damn. I want an FM3 again - for the 4th time now. Just have to wait for the right moment to tell my wife that I want to spend money for a device I have owned three times before. We're planning some fairly expensive improvements to make our house more energy efficient, so the timing isn't particularly fortunate. Wish me luck, brothers!

Hell, I’m not even a huge fan of the more recent Metallica tones, I just want to hear how they’re dialing that thing in for stadiums and sh*t.

Haha, I don‘t know how many times I already told her that exact thing! Pretty much every time I sold and bought gear. Oh, and I‘m from Germany, so we‘re talking about 1449 EUR :-(

Yes, but your 3-year warranty is included, so that's a partial offset, however unlikely you'll ever need it. Especially since they've been building that iteration for several years now.

Yup, that‘s what I told her when I sold my Marshall JVM410HJS to buy an FM3. And then when I sold my ENGL Artist Edition to buy an FM3.

I think Cliff mentioned at one point that ideally he would be creating models of "improved" versions of amps or their own creation (see the FAS amp models). I almost feel like the amp list they currently have is at a good spot where custom creations would be a logical next step?

You can do this now if you know what the amp is based on
The saturation switch in preamp is the JOSE you can add that to any plexi / 800 etc
I use custom made amps in my presets , I use a HK Triamp which is
A Soldano SLO with EL34s , a JCM800 tonestack and a few other tweaks
Also a Zwreck. Same idea DRZ Maz 38 with a wrecker tone stack

Well, you can turn power amp modeling off, but not disconnect it from a model (yet). But you can also pick the model that has the power section you do want then tweak the hell out of the pre-amp and do it kind of backwards. Tonestacks are in a drop down menu, so you can already put a Marshall tone stack in a Mesa amp (which I haven’t tried doing yet….not sure why I haven’t tried putting a Bogner tonestack in a JCM800 and making my own Snorkler)

You could totally do that
Someone was asking on the forum about a Bogner Helios 80s mode
You could replicate that by taking the 20th Shiva changing the stack to 800 and adding the saturation ( which is the clipping in the 80s mode like a Jose )

The thing that is very interesting in this GOT artist presets is how simple they are SYN Phil and Devin really keep it pretty basic
It funny sometimes you read maxed out my AxeFX turbo still need more power and then you see 2 pitch 5 delays 2 verbs , Plex delay 6 EQS
Then you look at the artist preset and go wow clean and simple
Wah drive amp cab delay done
lol it’s funny

Yeah, you get the best of both worlds with these modeling units; the guys who need 450 presets and the guys who need 450 things in one preset!

That would be cool, sort of mix and match your own pre and power amp from all the available amp models. Might result in some bad pairings but probably more than a few gems.
