Worth it.
Cliff is a machine and works x2 hours than most of us, literally dawn to dusk.

edit: I don't say that lightly either, nor do I ever fanboy, that's purely from what I observed so far.
It's holidays time.... he still works and delivers betas and fixes almost daily, now that's passion or maybe he's a workaholic, either way, I am truly grateful.

Falling behind

Would like to take my FM9 out instead of my FXIII, but we are starting to fall further and further behind on substantive (e.g. amp modelling) upgrades. I know there's no point asking "when" the FM9 will receive some of the more recent upgrades, but . . . is it even being worked on?

The Fractal modeling still hasn’t ended its honeymoon phase with me. The subtleties in dynamic response and the texture of the simulated tube distortion are so convincing. The modeling algorithms are works of art. A real pleasure to play.

I don't understand why some people get so upset that the team that migrates upgrades from the Axe III firmware to the FM9 and FM3 have to take some time to do their job. We do get the upgrades and to me it doesn't take an inordinate amount of time for them to be available.

I can see wanting gapless switching for live performances but getting your panties twisted because you don't have the very latest amp model upgrades? Really?

I agree No rush here either but I do like to have the Improvements offered
all the gear added is gravy in which i may or not ever use, so for me it's the Toanz improvements

Probably a few weeks , it a huge update and I suspect most of the beta guys have Christmas plans

I also think people get way to bent out of shape the other way by people asking for info on updates
There is no need to call people entitled babies and become enraged because someone asks a simple question
Obviously even Cliff notices as he takes time to make comments like the one above that he obviously does not need to make , but it’s a nice gesture

I think to many times people mistake true excitement, for entitlement or complaints , when they really are not

Agree. I've been down the gear rabbit hole for a few years now. I've wasted a lot of money on questionable amp purchases and pedalboards etc., and I'm tired of that merry-go-round.

I've sold off almost everything over the last year and I've put the funds towards the Axe-Fx so financially it makes sense for me. I'm happy where I've landed. Just wished I'd worked out what was right for me sooner than I did.

Even though it's not my most prized, that would have to go to my 335 that I think is really special even though at heart I'm still a Strat player, the FM9 is the one that puts a smile on my face more than anything else at this point. What else can do so much so well?

I will also say if there ever are critical bugs , like pops , loud noises , crashes those things are addressed immediately,
Many times even on a holiday weekend , I have never seen a beta with a major bug NOT be squashed within a day most times literally hours , no other company that I know of is doing same day fixes

My take on this is- Fractal isn’t lazy. Never has been. If my assumption is right, Cliff started working on the AxeFX about 20 years ago and hasn’t let up since. There’s a public track record from at least the last 13 of those 20 years where updates just spew out.

To even think “Is this thing being worked on?” is dimwitted and ignorant of a proven track record. To see that track record of an outpouring of updates and then somehow come to the conclusion that Fractal ISN’T doing everything they can to get the updates out on other products is also, IMO, dimwitted.

Personally, gapless switching is less gas inducing than the reverb upgrade, the new drive pedals and the new amps. I'm sure the new triode algorithm is a GAME CHANGER!!!!!!!!!!!
