I am still rack-phobic after having endured the late 80s/early90s...I'll get one eventually and leave it at home.... where it belongs. :LOL:

That's what I do with my III/FC-12. It stays in my home studio. I got the FM9 for when I want to Fractal somewhere else.

I think the AxeIII is incredible. It’s just that the one feature I would like from it has nothing to do with the hardware. The faster updates. But otherwise, the FM9 is awesome.

I'm not hooked on the updates. The FM9 as it ships is a wonderful piece of gear. If there was never another update I'd still absolutely love it.

In fact, I haven't updated mine since I got it. I'll probably update both just to get the gapless switching but it's really not necessary to get every single improvement.

In fact, from where I sit, constantly installing firmware and learning to utilize all of the new features takes away from time I could be playing. I'd much rather play music than fiddle with gear.

One advantage of doing infrequent updates is that when you finally do them you can see a significant improvement not just an incremental one. That makes the time spent working with the gear worthwhile to me.

I’m not saying I crave updates either. I’m just saying that if there’s anything I’d be missing from the AxeIII, it’d be that. But otherwise yes, it’s fantastic as is. Took awhile for me to get there. Wasn’t until Cygnus X2 that I felt it really replaced amps for me.

Well I was trying never to think about the price ever again!

But since you ask:

$3,648.35 USD ---> $5,093.28 CAD

via Mastercard.
