Fighting off the FOMO like a legend here.

Great update!

Hard to keep tabs on everything that was jammed into FW23. Gapless switching is incredible just on its own.

But we got new reverbs, tremolo, chorus, delay, all kinds of stuff.

Made a basic preset with the new tape chorus and dual tape delay, it sounds amazing.

Also really digging the new defaults for Dyna Cabs, now at least it's a starting point.
Interesting did not see anything on the new Dyna cab defaults but there was a lot of stuff in that update

Has anyone verified these settings from the hardware and not Axe-Edit?
Yeah that's where I got my source

how is that better / more sensible for all mics/cabs than 0/0

If the change was intentional, someone at FAS felt that was the best starting point for Dynacabs. Whether I agree will be determined but I trust the ones who made them to start me off on a good baseline

I tried the position out and to me it's a bit dark. I think the distance is fine but a position around 4.00 would work better for all mics - has some bite but not harsh.

You have to make some compromises so the same starting point works for any of the mic options. I still think it's better than zero position/distance because that doesn't work for any of the mics.

I'm surprised there's so much push for a default position on a movable mic.
It's all about how quickly you can get good results and how easy it is for new users to jump in and get a good tone in a preset made from scratch.

As an example, if you throw a Reverb block into your preset, usually the defaults are good enough that you want to just adjust the mix a bit. Same for many other effects, so why not Cab block too?

With the previous 0.0 position/distance you had to move each mic a good amount, now you can usually get by with a smaller adjustment so it's a bit faster to use.
