What are we watching now?

Finished "The 100". You'll rarely see such a pile of shit on top of a dumpster fire. If it wasn't for my stubborn "have to finish once I've started it" I'd stop watching half way through. I scrubbed through episodes of last season to skip the utterly dumb, totally unimportant crap.

Why can't there be a show with characters that are at least of average intelligence?

Burned through Hijack on Apple TV over the holidays. Idris Elba's plan gets hijacked. Great UK police procedural/thriller hybrid. Started Monarch as well. Basically Godzilla and Friends with Kurt Russel. Great so far and exactly what I am expecting out of it.

"The more I look at it
The more I like it
I do think it's good

The fact is
No matter how closely I study it
No matter how I take it apart
No matter how I break it down
It remains consistent

I wish you were here to see it"--- KC

First 2 episodes of Fargo Season 5 had me on the edge of my seat.

Superb! :chef

And a return to form, as well as the world of the movie and first series.

I am disappointment. I thought that if Doctor Who ever had to die he would be exterminated in an epic battle with the Daleks, but he has been ingloriously killed by Disney. This last episode is not even for teenagers, it is for kids. It has its good moments, and Tennant brilliant as always, but it is quite puerile.

I am afraid that episodes like the Weeping Angels will never be back again

I love watching shit like this. :chef

Josh is great. I also like Mr. Make It Happen. Matty Matheson has become probably my favorite YT food personality as of late though. Next to the one who's name we shan't speak of. Matty should irritate the living heck out of me but I just crack up watching dude and his food always look delicious :love

On a show note; started Shining Vale on Starz over the weekend. Pretty light supernatural comedy. Kind of Santa Clarita vibe in the best way? Courtney Cox and Greg Kinnear so the cast is good. Quick episodes and a breezy watch. I dig it.

I love Matty. :love

Killed it on The Bear.

Both he and Josh are in the small doses category for me. I can only do so
much of the "I had ADD as a child and now I have a cooking show on Youtube"
vibe. I watch to chill and learn, not snort a rail!!

I did buy Josh's first cookbook and plan to get his new one. I buy gifts for myself
to give my son to wrap for me for Christmas. Too bad he can't afford an AXE-FX! :hugitout

They both should drive me nuts. But they don't. There is an old "cowboy" cooking channel Kent Rollins(?) that I have started watching as of late. He is old fashioned but has a great outlook and does mostly outdoor/campfire cooking that speaks to me quite a bit.

The porn overtones in Josh's stuff is funny and sophomoric as all get out.

I usually do the cooking thing when I want to chill and learn something. Anthony Bourdain
was like a Chris Cornell level Hero/Icon for me.

Bourdain's book was great. Kitchen Confidential? Read it here years ago. I never watched his show but his ending was certainly sad :(

Yeah, his Food and Travel shows (No Reservations, and Parts Unknown) are legendary. His
dark wit, and cynical humour, while also being a super humble cat to whomever he was
lucky enough to share food with, was right up my alley. Also, he was hella smart!

He loved music, too, and did episodes with Dan Auerbach, Josh Homme, Iggy Pop,
Mark Lanegan, Deborah Harry, and Johnny Ramone among others.

A lot of which are on YT.
