What are we watching now?

Older interview I hadn't seen. Always loved Blues' approach to playing and composing. Talented dude.

Great interview. He seems like a really good guy. I had no idea he was from Middletown, CT. That's right around the corner. Brian Guitars in New Haven - I would have been schlepping around the same shop drooling over Ibanez, etc. back then. :)

Wild hearing about him tracking on his Clarion and Tascam 4 tracks. Those were the days...

It had been many years since I had seen Hot Shots! Part Deux, so I watched it last night. Still great! Lloyd Bridges steals the scene every time as the president.

It's a real shame there has been no real modern successors in the Zucker-Abrahams-Zucker genre of absurd comedies.

The Danger 5 TV series is probably the closest equivalent and I highly recommend it to anyone.

@mbenigni are you watching the new season of AHS? I read the synopsis and it sounds godawful  :rofl

I started watching it, but I just have complete ADD when it comes to tv right now. I ended up going in my studio and left it on in the background, it wasn’t too long before I got very confused because it was basically a re-make of the first season, like the exact dialogue and situations. Not seeing the screen I couldn’t tell exactly what was up, but everything with the parents/daughter in the first season and her looking at porn, then the gimp suit, I haven’t watched the first season since it aired but it seemed like I was re-watching it.

Not yet. My wife's got it piling up on the DVR for me, but I don't even know what it's about yet. And at this point, there's no telling who the cast might be. :(

I think Emma Roberts is in it again? A retread of season 1 would be super weird but of course right up their annoy the audience alley :rofl I'll probably throw on an episode once it's done and see if it drives us nuts  I think the last season I watched was 1984. That was solid. I didn't watch last season.

I believe she is, which is why I started watching it, I love that woman. The show has always been really hit or miss for me, almost like a Dream Theater album; all the stuff is there that I’d dig, but the way they go about it doesn’t hit the mark for me a lot of times. My ex was fanatical about the show so I caught some of most of the seasons but generally by the 5th or 6th episode I’ve checked out.

The first one was ridiculously good, that was one of the first times I ever had to look away from the screen because the content was getting to me, but they haven’t been able to recreate it since.

Oh man, the opening credits alone, and the sound design during... I was instantly hooked. Like, "This is the most genuinely horrific 'horror' I've seen in decades."

So I am in mid season 4 of Suits. I know Norminal and TSJ said it jumped the shark but I haven't hit that point yet? It's kind of the same old struggles and a time filler at most. Thought about rewatching Mr. Robot again for some reason here when time allows.

That about sums it up for me. I did finish the series, and I will say that the final season and finale was definitely rewarding. I just wish I hadn’t binge watched it. I think a slow burn does that show more justice.

Overall, I enjoyed it. .

I’m definitely going to rewatch Mr. Robot. I really dug that show but I remember I couldn’t watch the final season for a long time for some reason and it broke up the pace too much. I wanted to give it enough time to watch it again so it feels new again.

I LOVED the first season but iirc, the second season was a lot more convoluted?

Soooooooooo good! It ends up a bit like a Cybernetic Fight Club.... but you don't know that at the outset. Love that show! :chef

I recently re-watched all 6 episodes of Police Squad. That was a great ZAZ fix.

This could just as easily be in the listening thread, but whatevs-

They go back to the house they recorded Morning View in and played it live. Pretty cool, not the greatest audio quality but it’s cool how the drums sound in that room and it sounds like….Morning View. There’s some post-production work on here, or they’re playing along to some tracks but it’s pretty minimal and mostly around vocal harmonies. You see this, @spawnofthesith?

Totally forgot how many songs off this album I dig. Pretty much the entire album. I haven’t listened to it since probably ’03.

Marked for later. This album is :chef

Cool! That album came out in 2001 right before I left on a Roadtrip to the Left Coast.
It'll be seared into my brain forever! :chef
