What are we watching now?

Still not sure how some of you seem to watch so much TV. If you lived here Dad would have the
Remote on lockdown!!!

I just finished up the Quantum Leap reboot

Good, not great. I could do without what I've dubbed the "Harry Poppins" character

My dad and I loved the original and some of the memberberries were fun. I'll probably watch it when it resumes in January

Finally got around to watching Bullet Train.

Great movie. Good characters, fun/different fight scenes that kept it interesting. Plus Brad Pitt. I like him in just about everything LOL.
He's pretty much gold in everything. He was in that dumb Sandra Bullock/Channing Tatum thing (wife will dig it!) and he was hilarious. It was actually a good chick flick to offer up an option other than hyper violent horror and crime films :rofl

@James Freeman ; I started Drive again last night. Man; I LOVE that flick. The opening sequence is so killer. I know it's nothing like Blade Runner but I still dig the heck out of it \m/

The dudes new music studio though…. Omg. You guys seen that. Google it. Never knew Braddyboy was nerdy like that.

Started Guillermo Del Toro 's Cabinet of Curiosities on NF. Nice little horror anthology series. Two episodes in so far and it's good. Del Toro has the Mexican Hitchcock vibe down pat. It will be interesting to see how the various filmmakers put their stamp on things.
I really enjoyed the first episode - much more than I expected. Great casting, dialog, sets, props, lighting, the works. It ended a bit abruptly/ obviously, but this is always the way with horror. No help when you're trying to wrap up in ~40 minutes. I think I would have preferred one long series rather than a collection of single-episode vignettes. On the plus side: perfect length for a treadmill session. :D

The last few single story horror series for me were a LOOOOOOOOONG haul. It was probably a Mike Flanagan thing? Who is super slow and long winded anyway. I am looking forward to seeing what next season brings if they do revisit.

If you liked Peaky Blinders it's the same guy who created this.

The sound track is a killer and hilarious.
I liked Peaky Blinders (for the couple of seasons I watched), and I liked the soundtrack - but I was constantly distracted by this sense that the show would have been better without the soundtrack. I have a low tolerance for the try-hard "I dare you not to like this scene because your favorite song is playing" schtick. More typically encountered in kids movies (e.g. Minions) to pander to otherwise bored-out-of-their-skulls dads, I guess. But when it's too conspicuous it just makes me cringe.

Speaking of which, the latest season of AHS is probably the weakest yet. :(

We watched the previews where it was the usual how much graphic non-horror crap can we pack into a preview and I was pretty much out from the jump
Is the mind-blown emoji because you're surprised to catch me bad-mouthing AHS? :D It's actually been going downhill for a while. A lot of my favorite actors are conspicuously missing by now. And this whole, "how many different ways can we be 'important' while essentially rewriting Halloween/ Friday the 13th?" play is just lame.

Speaking of trying too hard to be important: I got a little bit impatient with the way the Dahmer series started to meander toward the end as well. Important subjects, to be sure, but handled poorly and probably in the wrong context/ medium.

It's mainly because I know it will suck. Sarcastic mindblown :rofl

I haven’t seen anybody say Dark yet. It’s on Netflix. Incredible show - 3 seasons beginning to end.

It’s German and you can choose English dub, but I recommend captions so you get authentic voices.

Watched the first/ maybe the second season. Remember vaguely liking it/ not necessarily loving it? But it was so long ago now that I can't tell how much I'd watched. S2E1 is familiar...ish. And if I can't quite remember the show, am I sufficiently motivated to start from the beginning?

Precisely why I have a living room rig. :ROFLMAO:

If I’m not in my studio or playing a video game, I rarely have the TV on without a guitar in my hands. It’s where 90% of my original stuff comes from, I just record a quick video of it then when I get in my studio later I sort through the clips to find something I want to work on.

The downside of that is that I often end up watching a lot of shows twice because I might be more focused on my guitar than the TV.

The first season of that show has yet to be beaten, for me. I don’t think I’ve finished a single season since. Emma Roberts is pretty much the only reason I kept going back to it because :chef

That sounds heavenly. Stay single. ;)

Ahh yes - the Lost City? That was such a Romancing the Stone ripoff, but it was actually fun. And his character was hilarious.
