What are we watching now?

Next on our list is Barbarian and Bullet Train (which my wife will probably sit out for, LOL). 😁

And then Terrifier 2 whenever it comes to streaming.
Your wife might dig Bullet Train? Probably not Terrifier 2 though :bag :rofl All of these are great in their own way.

Yeah, she’ll probably watch it with me even though those assassin / shoot-em-up / fighting movies aren’t typically her first choice.

And i read some interesting things about Terrifier 2, so yeah! haha.

I saw Next at one of those 4dX theaters that has the crazy seats that blow air at you, shoots mists of water at you and shakes you all over the damn place during turbulent scenes, it was AWESOME!

It’d be really hard for me to separate the movie from the physical aspects of watching it in those seats, it definitely brought in a different level of immersion. I need one of those in my apartment!

"Everything Everywhere All at Once" was all that I'd hoped that movie would be.

If you like semi-abstract, slightly silly (bonkers, actually) mind-exploding sort of stuff, then you might like it. Some people might find it overwhelming, though. I have a soft spot for grumpy reluctant heroes too.

I so want to see this.

From what I think I know of your personality, it would probably be right up your street.

Especially if you have also enjoyed other crazy / random movies like Gilliam's Brazil (1985), or the works of Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry, Charlie Kaufman.

The trailers that came out when the movie was first released are pretty representative of what to expect (y)

Yeah I need to sit down when my eyes are ok to watch something with subtitles. Last time I tried watching it I reallly wanted to watch it but was just too tired.

My only problem with subtitles is that I end up watching the bottom of the screen the whole time and need to remind myself that there’s stuff going on above the text. I’m a speed-reader so it’s not an issue of not catching the text fast enough, but my eyes just stay there waiting for the next line.

Huge, admittedly niche, pet peeve:
Keeping subs on for english speaking shows because of volume restrictions or I can't quite grasp the UK accent being used when someone starts talking in another language and all the baked in subs are overlaid with "Speaking Korean" over top :cuss

hahahah I’ve had to do it a couple times with some UK stuff, keeping up with 60% of it just felt like I was missing out on the really good sh*t they were saying that I‘d want to adapt in my own vocabulary. I think I watched Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels with the subtitles the first couple times before I grasped it all.

Watching F1: Drive To Survive. There's a few people in this sport I'm not really liking, top being Lewis Hamilton. And Williams seems ruthless.

I haven’t seen anybody say Dark yet. It’s on Netflix. Incredible show - 3 seasons beginning to end.

It’s German and you can choose English dub, but I recommend captions so you get authentic voices.

Watched an Amazon series called The English over the weekend. Emily Blunt comes to America to take revenge. Pretty quick watch and was really good at keeping the story going over a short episode run vs. 37 seasons at 22 episodes per season.

Finished up latest season of Handmaid. All things considered; I was pleasantly surprised. They could have a great wrap up next season if they do it right.

I still need to watch the last episode, I put it on last Thursday and immediately fell asleep just from being exhausted from work. It definitely picked up about mid-way through the season, definitely anxious to check this out tonight. Then I’ve got another episode of The Peripheral, which has been my favorite show so far this year.

I LOVED the first season of this but by the time the 2nd one came out I forgot way too many details, so I restarted S1 but had too many gaps between episodes so I re-watched them like 5x and once I do that with any show or movie I lose interest because I’m just seeing the same thing over and over but not retaining the info. Maybe I’m getting senile.

Yeah I love the F1 show. After watching for a couple years it was both awesome and a little sad to see Mercedes fall.
