Randall Smith Gone From Mesa Boogie/Gibson?

I think that's overstating a bit. Ryan, who got this started, could very well be a credible source, more than just an average YT'er, since he may be in touch with people who would know: EBMM Signature guitar, EBMM works with John Petrucci, who knows a few people at MB, so I don't see it as a stretch.

And then we're just a bunch of guys on gear forums talking about it.

Just how I see it. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Sure. But I’d rather wait until there’s something official.

Anything at this point is pure speculation without some kind of statement. And even then who even knows if we’ll get much of one? At this point if he’s still making amps, awesome. If he’s decided to retire at this point, awesome. If he’s been forced out the door, not awesome. However, we do need more than a “Bro. Trust me bro.” source.

Yeah but fluffs “source” according to him is allegedly someone who works at Mesa who was told Randall retired but “doesn’t buy it”

That’s -really- pushing it imo. Hardly even reaches the level of “hearsay”

At best at this point we have a rumor that a nearly 80 year old man might’ve retired

It's probably referenced in the NDA agreement he signed when he sold. It's very common for the executives to stay on for a bit after a sale. Evidently, his time to move to FL and join all the other retirees is upon us and it may not even be Gibson's fault but that is not going to stop the drama queens from doing their thing...

I don't know shit. I do know the history of these kinds of arrangements often
don't bode well for one of the parties involved. Whether it is true or not there
is a lot of precedent for someone being shown the door. Time will tell, eh? :idk

Pretty much. Once you sell a controlling stake in your company, you have…. relinquished control of your company. Ultimately little should come as a “surprise” the second the check clears.

He’s earned all the success one could hope for in this business. It’s Gibsons burden to live up to the legacy now.

People keep cracking RI jokes like it’s a bad thing but I would be so stoked on a mark III reissue… 40th anniversary coming up…

I heard he left and checked into retirement facility.
Dude’s 80, he should finally build the
Mega-Monster Mesa.
Randy’s seen a lot of standby switches fade…
