New Mesa Mark amp coming?

Very curious how they would layout the 25W version when that is released.
If it follows the Mark V:25, it'll only have 2 channels with 3 modes each. I'm guessing they will probably not be able to afford mode duplication.

Ch1: Clean, Fat, Crunch
Ch2: VII, IIC+, IV

??
Skipping IIB.

What are your thoughts?
I think that sounds really likely if and when they do that.

I get that some of the primary design goals of Mesa’s low wattage amps seems to be compactness and portability, but I’d love to see a 25 watt version of the Mark VII with an identical width and front panel as the 100w version, but with the amp maybe shorter because it wouldn’t have to accommodate the taller 6L6 tubes and transformer, just the EL84’s.

Excellent question. And one that will "probably" deflate this GAS bubble I am experiencing because I am horrifically susceptible to just the right kind of marketing

It was LOUD AF, I wasn't sold on my own dial in skills on the amp itself. It is a tweakfest. Mostly it was expensive enough where I felt guilty for keeping it. So obviously the same model only next gen that costs $1000 more seems like a smart move  :ROFLMAO:

Yup. Sounds badass.

For being a “tweaker” amp it actually looks pretty simple in that you basically turn off the bass and middle knobs and set the V on the graphic eq.

Where the hell is any midrange coming from though if you’re not adding any in the pre-eq and removing a lot of 750?
Tonewars did a dial in (his cries for help were noticed apparently :ROFLMAO: ). He was having some difficulty and he had the mid knob up WAY high and seemed to barely tweak the para. So that probably had something to do with it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I kinda remember you were all-modelling at the time and complained about how “noisy tubes amps are”…

It's funny, all this VII buzz is just making me want to try a V again…

That's the smarter, if not smartest, move. My prediction is the V will go down, in the long run, as a superior amp
to the VII, and by a wide margin. I'd snag a IV, or a JP2C, or a V, before I would come within 100 feet of the VII.

And this from someone who is a massive Mesa fanboi and owns (and has owned ) more Mesa amps than any other
brand. I'd also jump sooner rather than later. Once the new stock on the V is depleted and they are no longer
making them the prices will go up, up, up. :stirthepot

Yeah, I’d only be getting a used one. Mesa/Gibson has priced me out of the new gear game.

But I bought and returned a V 90 head last summer, so it’s too early for another go around…

Did you buy it new or used? I know you are in Canada, and they tend to be more spendy on that side of
the Great Lakes.

I wasn't talking buying new. Just that when the new stock of MKVs is gone the used prices of MKVs will
trend upward over time.
