Lets talk about Mesa 2x12s (and more)

If I'm gigging with a 1x12, I want it to be a combo so I can carry that on one hand, pedalboard on the other and guitar on my back. Carrying a 1x12, a head and a board would make my load-in harder, unless I'm using some kind of dolly/cart.

With 2x12s or 4x12s, it's easier to put the head and board on top and roll the rig in. :idk

Fair, but I genuinely prefer the sound of my current 1x12 to either of my 2x12s

Pretty certain that I’m gonna grab this thiele but that doesn’t mean I still won’t get a Mesa 2x12 at some point in the future :cop

When I gig, I have 2 speaker setups to choose from. One is the Mesa vertical 2x12 the other setup is a pair of Thieles. The benefit of the Thiele setup is I can use just 1 cab if stage space or distance to load in/out is an issue. I prefer to use the 2x12 for outdoor venues. Both setups have the same speakers, so tone is never an issue. But, using both Thieles is usually a stereo rig and the swirling effect with certain effects is absolutely amazing. Both are powerhouse rigs due to the speakers I chose (Redback and EVM 12L), and both weigh about the same in the long run. I would say the Thiele cabs breathe better and fill a room more than the 2x12. But outdoors, the 2x12 just crushes, just beaming out glorious tone to potentially melt faces, lol. It all depends on the venue for me.

Current plan is to have the thiele delivered to me at the venue during load in on Thursday, I'm pretty pumped haha

Still think one of the vertical 2x12s could be in my future too. I'll try and sell my madison 2x12 first

Then I'll probably need to get another head too, can't be having more cabs than heads now can I :cop

Here’s my 2x12 Mesa cab. I took out one of the v30s and swapped in a creamback 65. Totally awesome upgrade! I’ll use this with either my mark v25 or fireball 25. I like to stand it up on its end vertically and put the amp head on top so I can actually see/reach the amp knobs. It looks like a skinny stack. 😂 I feel like it also sounds/spreads better that way too.

Bet that rips!!

It’s been a while since I’ve had V30s… last was the 4x12 trad I used to have. I loved that can, however if my recent tinkering with IRs are any indication Mayve I’m not that into v30s anymore? I guess I’ll find out if I roll a Mesa 2x12 eventually. I got that cream back in my DR now but kind of curious to experiment with a high gain amp and closed back cab
