Fractal Audio Firmware Update Thread

Fractal Updates are the leading cause of GAS, for Non FAS users

Haha! It definitely feels like a bonus. The frequency is certainly well ahead any of the others.

That said, you will hear similar confessions of GAS, and all kinds of moaning on the Fractal
forum since the FM and FM9 are updated AFTER the AXe-Fx III. Not by me, though. A gift
is a gift regardless of when it arrives. :beer

Oh, and I think your tones sound great, Stone. There guys with a Fractal who don't sound
that good.

Cliff and team seem to have closed the gap on that recently. I don't know if they've changed their development approach, but the recent round of updates contain all the latest AF3 goodies. I've got nothing to complain about! And the FM3 received updates before the FM9 even

Nice work!

Yeah the FM3 truly feels like mini AF3 (minus the horsepower obviously)

The longer I own a FM3 the more I'm impressed with what you can squeeze out of it. I regularly find myself looking for things to add, just because I can. But of course if you are one of those people who need to run 6 delays, 2 reverbs, 2 amps, 4 cabs, 8 drives, 6 modulations and a 4k movie all at the same time, the FM3 will not be your jam :headbang

For sure. Even the 3 switches are really flexible considering

indeed.

But if you need just a couple more switches, I just learned about this beauty of a sidecar from Cooper Carter. It’s made by Otter Custom Designs - they have a 2-button and a 4-button version:

If I had an FM3 (vs. my FM9), I’d likely be looking at one of these.

Damn. Price is quite reasonable, too.

I love this firmware I am playing loud on the 5153 blue and it’s amazing punchy , tight focused lows and you can hear every note in the chords
