Boss GX 10 ..... Floor EFX Unit Anyone ?

I wish I could agree, but I don't. The amps still sounds like eq'ed dist pedals running direct to me, there's something "plasticky" artificial about the tone that doesn't agree with me.
I get it 100%. One of his presets is even named LT Plastic :rofl I love the Boss time and mod fx and some of their fake ass amps nonetheless :ROFLMAO: I won't end up with one of these but I'd buy this over any other cheap backup option.

This is exactly what I hear too - couldn't have described it any better.

I rest my case Your Honor !

This seems very good for the price. Not a big fan of boss amp modelling, but would be worth it for many, just for the effects alone
Yup, I guess it's a Boss problem. On the other hand, they sit in the mix just fine, going by what I heard at various jam sessions. They're definitely on a pro level, but maybe doing things a little differently.

I could use something smaller.

Could this do momentary octave up and down and then a chaos button for like crazy delays/reverb/noise?

I see it's got 3 foot switches but the up down arrows are confusing me lol. Can I assign anything to them?

No amp or cab modeling needed.

First impressions...

1. The damn thing is just cute. Not a word I normally use, but I can't think of anything else to describe it
(and I'm trying not to use the words "form factor").

2. That's Our Boss(TM). Those of you describing that Boss tone aren't wrong -- it's definitely there.
Not nearly as bad as the COSM stuff, but even my first experience with the X amps was meh...
Fractal's amp modeling is just clearly superior; the FM9 has spoiled me.

I noticed LT was using hi/lo cuts; I'll be trying that. And to be fair, I haven't tried dialing in any of the amps yet.

3. Pretty decent array of presets; I tended to like the cleaner ambient stuff (esp. on the neck pup of my tele deluxe).
Some of the FX-heavy ones were inspiring. And some of the presets are surprisingly complex.

4. The acoustic sim seems noticeably better; that might turn out to be a pleasant surprise...

5. Had read the manual, but the thing seemed pretty intuitive almost immediately. I like that while it has
a touchscreen, you aren't forced to use it.

For me, an awesome upgrade to the GT-1. :rawk

But it's no FM0. :hmm

Too bad their "Stombox" feature (which actually should be called "global blocks", because that's exactly what it is) never made it from the GT into the GX series. Otherwise this would be an instant buy for me. For some jobs I need something offering a little "more" than a Stomp and I also usually need an EXP pedal, so this would check almost all my boxes. As is, I'm still gonna go for the bigger GT-1000.

And fwiw, I actually happen to like quite some of Boss' modeling attempts.

Did yours come with the latest 1.02 firmware?

I have the Boss softcase for the GT-1; just tried it with the GX-10. Fits well enough; it's a bit larger so it slightly distorts the case but doesn't seem to put undue stress on the zippers or anything....

This thing is just plain fun.

I've been researching what people are saying about the GX-100; learning about EQ and some people think the MIC setting should be more like 50 rather than the default of 100. Kind of just playing with all those things so I can't say I have any coherent advice, but the unit is sounding better so I must be learning something. Starting to get a sense for the amps; ORNG STACK is the first one I'm digging.

All I know is that with the thing on my desk, headphones plugged in, I'm really enjoying it.

(Almost wish it had no pedal and no footswitches.....kind of like an FM0.....<sigh>)

The new Kingman vid sounds great. The X-Optima amp sounds really good to my ears. Can you split the signal to one side with cab emulation, one side without?
