BOSS VG-800

The SY altered tunings & instrument modelling work pretty well IMO

Yeah, this has me coming back around to the VG-800....

In the 4 years since that video was made, how often do you find you're using this stuff on the SY?

For me, everyday in the mix SY-1000, you can hear it on this tune CM-11_2 >
This is a combination of SY-1000 and the GM-800 (before the VG-800 arrived)
Each instance, recording two stereo tracks simultaneously, Alt tuning = C_G_Eb_F_Bb_D

Sweetwater had an open box for a good price so a VG-800 is on the way. If it works well I may switch my cover band board from an FM9 to a GM-800/VG-800 combo. As much as I like the FM9 I think it will be a more practical solution for my use case, giving me synth, guitar and virtual guitar sounds in a smaller footprint.

Come on, guy. That's not the answer. The answer is to run all three, in a triangular shape. Come on. Make Vernon Reid proud.

Just pulled the trigger on one of these. Brock, how well does it work running the modeled guitar sounds into your FM9? I'm going to use it along with my GM-800 with my FM9 as the brains and for the tones.

To be honest I haven't used the vg-800 much as I should. I do use my gm-800 quite a bit though! I do need to experiment more with vg-800 though, just haven't needed it right now.

I'm curious since JT mentioned something earlier in the thread about possible gain staging issues, but he also admitted to being slightly pessimistic since BOSS.
