Try the Krampus pedal. Ms80ir. It also has the 7Heaven with extra gain stage. Its my favorite model, even though i play std 6.

If you are considering the ir2 i cant believe you wouldnt consider the zoom. Even just to try it ironically. Then we could argue about each others preferences.

I have now been listening to quite some MS80 demos on YT. Pretty much all amps seem to sound average at best.

I’d rather have a POD HD. Every demo, even pro ones, sounded mediocre to bad.

The MS80IR is just another option in this class of pedals.

I have the Friedman IR-X in the loop to AB against the zoom models. The IRX sounds amazing, but through the same IR the Krampus sounds about the same. It doesn't clean up as well, but it sounds good.

ITs not a joke and the pedal is like $100.

Celestion IRs are fine…better than the Boss eq curves anyway.

See, I love my MS-50G. Even if it'll leave my main board one day soon, it'll see a lot of usage for years to come. I also even still love my G3. It's great for acoustic guitar and the onboard looper is second to none of the other "after the fact" loopers for a number of reasons.
There's also some FX Zoom has really done well.
But if anything, their drives and amp models have always been behind the competition, especially in terms of dynamics.
Now, while things have improved quite a bit, to me it still seems the weak spot in their units. At least I haven't heard anything yet that'd make me think of any Zoom unit to become a serious contender for any kind of amp simulation job.

And fwiw, IMO it's no different with the IR-2. The Natural amp is working pretty well live, the X-Crunch is ok in case you have to use it (which sometimes is the case for me when I need to use a suitcase/backpack rig), but others than that, sorry but no cigar. Workable but falling short on the playing fun side.

me neither. I thought, this doesn't even remotely sound like any recto, ever, under any circumstance, this sounds like a low budget early 90s garage thrash band's really bad first-record/demo guitar tone. it doesn't suck, it's perfect!
