Boss GT-1000 (and possibly other things Boss...)

I futzed with the GTX touchscreen vs. the MX5. Sounds (that i didn't bother to listen to) aside; the Headrush touchscreen was miles better.

Absolutely. Not that I had any plans to get the GX instead, but I had a brief look at one unit in the store (also without even playing it) and the touchscreen feel was pretty cheapish and not exactly responsive. Tons better to deal with it than with the GT's onboard editing, though - but fortunately I'm pretty much done with that, the 4-5 main patches I came up with will likely serve me as long as I own the unit. All I ever change might be 1-2 FX and that was it.

I can only recommend to check the various ground lift options. Fixed that issue for me and it's now as clean as it possibly gets.
I'm also running everything from one single isolated multiout PSU (the Boss one apparently is pretty bad), maybe that helps as well.
did that, still noise. even when im not playing anything, there still some noise coming throught (I did a test without the tonex connected, and it did this). cant return it, since i bought my gt1000 second hand. oh well, its not that prevelant that it botters me.

What power supplies are you using?

As said, IMO it's got a lot to do with the PSU used. Ever since I'm running everything from one single HB multiout PSU, things are wonderfully silent.
