Not watching the whole video, but a tube amp through a load for live use is a Rube Goldberg Machine of diminishing returns. ESPECIALLY the Captor X. I've had it twice, and it's just not that great.
No shill youtuber gets to tell me what's back, amps were always here and remain the most fun and authentic way to play electric guitar through.
I bring my modeler thingy and, dare I say, some ""FRFR"". What does that make me?
And you know what? It still sounds like an absolute bag of balls. Fuck these damn things.
I smell a bit of operating error...
Direct just ain’t it for some of us.
That's all fine.
But then, seriously, in case thousands and thousands of guitar players are getting along with modeling by now just fine (some even loving it more than their real amps), some high profiled folks among them, "sounds like an absolute bag of balls" is either plain hyperbole or operator error.
Nope, I know how to dial in a tone and it sounded fine through studio monitors at home.I smell a bit of operating error...
there’s no interaction between the guitar and cab
any other live scenario it’s
Which interaction precisely are we talking about here? The only possible interaction would be feedback (unless we're talking about smashing 4x12 stacks with your guitar neck). And I'm getting great feedback using an ""FRFR"" wedge.
That's quite nonsensical as these things are used sucessfully in galores of silent stage environments. And they sound partially fantastic.
Yes, you need to get used to things. And you might not be able to. Fine. But that's about all there is.
including the natural feedback which doesn’t sound the same when using an """FRFR""".
Because the feedback coming out of a guitar cab sounds good and the feedback coming out of an "FRFR" sounds like an angry wasp being played through an iPhone speaker. How exactly does it sound different?
There really is a trend here of people arguing against other people's opinions.
Apparently I might just need to get used to the "FRFR" sound. There really is a trend here of people arguing against other people's opinions. It blows big chunks.

No one really cares dude. It is an opinion. Let him have it. He's clearly TRIED going digital, and he doesn't like it. He thinks it sounds like ass. It doesn't need to be the huge back and forth where you try and disprove his opinion. He doesn't rate digital, I don't like the Kemper, and no-one is changing our minds. It aint that deep.In case you're talking about me, I just can't stand all that kinda absolutistic statements. "Sounds like ass" (implying there's no way around it) is one of those statements.

Maybe when I’ve got a few more gigs under my belt.
