Real Wah in front of my FM3 ...... am I hearing things or am I delusional (?)

While Thumperjack is a font of misinformation he is somewhat correct. The classic Vox-style wah has a complex input impedance that is dependent on the pedal position.

Modelers cannot reproduce this since they necessarily have an input buffer.

Later wahs like the Cry Baby GCB-95 contain an input buffer and do not suffer from this.

IIRC you can get close, though, by simply reducing the input impedance. The load is mostly resistive and around 100K I believe. I would have to go back through my notes and simulations to get the actual numbers.

I've run a Wah before the FM3 since my initial purchase 4 + years ago. I can't see
ever changing. I also like to rotate Wah pedals depending on what I am going
for. Daddy likes his Wah-Wahing.

The bonus is (other than sounding better) is that it frees up a couple 2 or 3 % of CPU. :banana

Also, for me the response of an EXP Pedal sometimes has this way of feeling less than
responsive than an actual Wah. I know it shouldn't. Just funny that way, I suppose. :idk
