I would like a small unit (the one shown would probably float my boat) and an option to absolutely seamlessly integrate some more footswitches.

In fact, I find the GT-1000 Core to be almost perfect. Would've gotten one already (instead of the Stomp when getting rid of the Helix), but then I learned it had no Bluetooth (or mobile editing options via USB), so one of the main advances over the Stomp was gone... still thinking about one, though.

Cut off the two EXP on the left and double the current Floor DSP and I’ll buy two and backpack.

IMO, you need the big screen to effectively program a dual-DSP Helix, but the next biggest issue with this idea is there probably isn't space inside the HX FX enclosure for a proper power supply, so it would be a hard pass for me.
