Hotone Pulze Amplifier

I just purchased a Pulze Mini; it appears that it has the same amps and effects of the full Pulze.
So far, the Mini sounds great - I also have the Hotone Stage 2, so am kind of wondering how they compare in others' ears....
Last night I decided to compare my Stage and full size Pulze. I believe they sound so similar that I think the underlying code is the same. Only difference being speakers and probably AD/DA converters.

I have a Pulze and it’s really good, it’s definitely the best practice amp. It has a crazy stereo spread that makes it sound like it’s filling the room. I just wish Hotone would add all the Ampero models to it like the 2290 and Dual Detune.

I don’t know if it’s the best as I haven’t tried them all, but I do like it better that my Spark 2 (which is pretty great too) and my Yamaha THRII.

The Stereo+ is pretty remarkable. I’ve heard features like this used on other practice amps but none have done it to such effect! It really is neat what they’ve achieved with that. The only thing I might be able to come up with to improve it would be to make it adjustable. But really that is just a total nitpick.

Loading IR’s over Bluetooth with my phone is great too.

Perhaps they will add some more amps and effects via firmware. They’ve done it before with other products.

Like the Stage, the Bogner Red in this Pulze is just so nice and inspiring to play. I’d like to see Hotone put the guts of the Pulze Mini in to a small metal chassis like the Ampero Mini and offer it for $150 or so. Maybe then some of the unbelievers night give it a go and hear for themselves what the fuss is all about. The mini Pulze amp is certainly affordable enough to see as well but I’m not convinced the small speaker or headphones out give this modeling tech a fair shake. My Hotone Stage and Pulze do sound great through headphones and the Stage is my favorite of all of my gear to use this way… but we all know what moving air through speakers adds.

Did a cool experiment today. Ran the phones out of the Ampero II Stage in to the Aux-In of the Pulze.

Loaded up the same 5153 amp on both the Pulze and Stage. Matched all amp settings. Loaded up the same YA MRSH M20 IR and the same Digital Delay with same settings. Matched levels by ear. Switched back and forth using the same guitar to compare. Playback system was the same @Mikael Dez !

I think they are using the exact same algos and modeling. The Stage was just a tad brighter. Otherwise they were pretty much identical. The brightness might be due to higher IR capabilities or perhaps the quality of the converters. At any rate neither were Ampero I or Mini level modeling at all.

I’m impressed by the Pulze. It hung in there very well. Nice.

@KingsXJJ and others who have the Pulze.

I am thinking of buying the Pulze instead of what I had before (ampero 2 stomp + 1x12 powered guitar cab) which was a little overkill for playing at home.

I checked the manual and effects list and I think it's possible, but could you check for me if the pulze has the "Classic PS" effect (similar to digitech Whammy) and the Pitch Shifter and if it's possible to move them in the signal chain freely?

I would like to use it as first or second effect to play songs that needs lower tunings without having to buy a Digitech Drop

Here are the pitch shifters on the Pulze. My thoughts, yes, you can move the to the front of the chain but this amp is not going to be able to replace or replicate the DigiTech Drop effectively. Even high end modelers may struggle to do what that dedicated unit can do in my opinion. Hope this helps.

Thanks. Yes, i'm aware. But if it's the same effects as the ampero II, the whammy is passable enough to play at home as a hobby.

It works better than the pitch shift itself on the ampero II as a Digitech Drop replacement.

Not as good as the Drop, of course, but I don't want to pay the absurd that it costs here in Brazil just to use sparingly.
