Hey digital igloo .. i must say

Yamaha is great. Still loving my MX49 synth and DTX522k e-drum kit after years of steady use, and so far so good with my WXA-50 home theater amp (replacing a Denon that gave me trouble almost from day 1 and finally died in 2023). But the thought of corporate parent meddling in L6 makes me nervous. I'm still sore over what happened to DigiTech.

I'm clearly biased so take what the shameless corporate shill tells you with a grain of salt, but fret not. Yamaha's been fabulous; if anything, they let us sleep a bit easier knowing our rich uncle can bail us out if one of our... let's say more ambitious and therefore riskier... ventures were to go south.

But yes, there absolutely are companies out there that totally undermine and screw over the brands they absorb. If Yamaha were to ever hint at going down that road, quite a few of us would jump ship in a heartbeat. As soon as this ceases to be fun, we're out.

Wow, you bought something?

Haven't been posting much lately ... but what's this thread even about ???

To the best of my knowledge, Yamaha have %100 owned L6 for years and have let them [essentially] "run their own race" ... and as such, L6 have been astronomically successful

So ... what if anything at all has changed and/or why would any [significant] changes even be contemplated ?

Or is this just the usual made up b.s internet gossip / non-news ?

Genuinely confused !?!?!?!?!

Well, even if you would be here more often you’d be equally confused over the threads. The number of confusing threads has astronomically increased.

Yeah, bought them in 2007 when they bought Hamer’s parent Kaman. Word on the street was that they were only interested in Kaman’s MI distribution business. In 2013 they killed the crown jewel Hamer USA line, firing everyone, shutting down the New Hartford, CT workshop, and cannibalizing all the top-shelf wood. You started to see special-run Fender FMTs after that. They kept the Indonesian import line running and in 2015 spun it off (with what remained of Kaman) to Jam Industries.

Well. I cant lie. I do love me some good-ole-fashioned hyperbole :)

OP thinks L6 and its users could benefit from Yamaha Corp taking a more active role in L6 product development.

So. 3 pages and 52 posts about a thought that's not based in, or on, any sort of reality - hmmm.

Mind you, I just read online that Ford Motor Co. are in negotiations with Cliff to buy Fractal so they can get in early on the whole un-tapped "guitarists who drive to gigs" market ;)

If they could make my Taurus sound and feel like a Ferrari, would the audience be able to tell the difference?

Pretty much what DI was hinting at with his initial responses.

Who are the modeling experts in the Yamaha family? I think both Yamaha and Line6 know that answer. Unless, as DI said, they want to rely on Yamaha’s expertise in boat engines, car parts, and phone manufacturing equipment.

I just researched hyvibe acoustics and they seem to have same onboard and app as the yamaha tag3c with looper and effects . Iwonder if they were 1st and yamaha copied them or viceversa?
