Never even realized how awesome Corey Wong is - its not even my jam but I just could not stop vibing and listening to it !

I’m a big fan of Cory Wong. Love all the Cory and the Wongnotes episodes, all the work with Vulfpeck and The Fearless Fliers, and his live band is amazing!

For a long time his band was essentially Prince’s old band.

Sonny T was Prince’s bassist and musical mentor. The Hornheads were Prince’s horn section, and Petar Janjic was the protege and first-call sub for Prince’s drummer Michael Bland.

Yep. He's definitely got a good degree of Prince / JB and even some Bruno Mars'ish inspiration and influence .... and if you are going to be influenced .... you may as well aim for the top.

Even though its not my cup of tea, what got me was how he made it his own ... but more importantly ... how much joy and happiness was evident in him and the astonishing band .... musically amazing ...... and his brilliant guitar work was the iceing on the cake.
