Same, with Dead to Me. It was funnier/better than I expected. Really sad what Christina Applegate is suffering through right now with her M.S., but I thought it was brave of her to go forward with the show even though she’s 40+ lbs heavier and looks so different.

I kind of lost interest in Westworld after Season 2 (and the wife didn’t care for it). Maybe I need to revisit it. Was Season 3 and 4 as good as Season 1?

Man, Westworld is a huge love/hate fest. I think most people just kept watching it in hopes it’d return to S1’s feel/writing/ANYTHING. I wouldn’t say it does that at any point and I’m really hard pressed to tell you to keep watching. S4 was pretty good, but it still feels so far removed from the first season. I mean, at one point even the characters in the show had no clue wtf was going on. :rofl
The Bear was killer but certainly anxiety inducing

Definitely the most realistic look at what it’s like working in a restaurant from the back of house position. That scene with the tickets pouring out of the printer? We used to keep an empty trash bin under the printer at one place because once 5PM hit on a friday afternoon the printer was spitting them out like that. The arguments/tempers, all spot on.

I definitely enjoyed it and it definitely brought back some of that anxiety! I mean, that printer sound alone is something that wouldn’t leave my head after a crazy shift, I’d be falling asleep and snap awake thinking I had orders to make because of that damn sound. Lip did a good job with that role, though it wasn’t too far removed from the Lip role.

I finished The Periphery this weekend (same writers/producers as Westworld) and it’s pretty damn good. Started losing me a little towards the end but I think that was more my fault than the show’s as I watched one episode without paying enough attention and lost track of some information. Definitely a show you need to pay attention to.

They very much set it up for a S2 and I’d be stoked if it doesn’t get cancelled, Prime did a great job with this one. My only gripes were in the beginning and seemed like they added a few scenes just to tie the story together better, but left the scenes falling a bit flat. Not a huge deal at all, they’re maybe 1-2 minute scenes every other show in the first 4 episodes. IMDrewD gives it a 7.5/8.

Gotcha. Yeah, it will remain on the back burner for now. Too many other shows to watch something that’s not good or frustrating, LOL. I’m still curious…. But that second season just disappointed me.

I completely forgot the entirety of the 2nd season by the time I was watching S4. I remember saying “I really wish they would have actually gone to the Samurai world…” and was quickly reminded “They did in S2”. :rofl

I think the biggest thing is that there was so much to enjoy in Westworld in that first season, like the game-world and after S1 that’s gone with the plot taking place outside the game. And Anthony Hopkins, I mean, he’s Anthony Hopkins.

Hahaha when I started S4, I wasn’t paying attention and actually started a random episode from S1, I went onto a forum to discuss it and was all giddy “Man, I feel like they covered a lot of ground that was already covered, but I’m stoked their back in Westworld again!” and no one corrected me! :rofl

Ha - that’s hilarious. Yeah, that S1 - it was just so different and cool and the game-world aspect of it was so well done, I was like “where have yo been all my life?” I thought it was the coolest thing since sliced bread and couldn’t wait for more of the same. Nope. LMAO. I’ll go ahead and try S3 and S4 I guess. I’m starting to travel again - and that’s probably a good opportunity to watch them because my wife is done with it for sure, LOL.

Went and saw Violent Night Saturday. Generally really good. Mainly because David Harbour(sp?) and his delivery? Tried a bit too hard to be Die Hard Meets Home Alone but overall was a good watch.

That was exactly my thoughts on the world, I would have been fine if they just stayed there. Every time they cut to the ‘real world’ I just wanted them to go back and I wanted to explore all the cool stuff!

Finally got around to watching Bullet Train.

Great movie. Good characters, fun/different fight scenes that kept it interesting. Plus Brad Pitt. I like him in just about everything LOL.

I put this on yesterday but somehow got the desire to go record, despite the hangover that had be sprawled on my couch all day. I love Pitt and it seemed interesting, I‘ll probably watch it again tonight and actually watch it this time.

I liked this one quite a bit. She was a little more straightforward here vs. weirdo on Walking Dead or feral on the Woman.

Watched Emily the Criminal on Netflix. Aubrey Piazza(?) plays a down on her luck felon by way of singular bad decision who goes deep because she is left with no other choice. I like Piazza but she always plays borderline nutso so good that she doesn't ever seem to trend towards "regular" as much. It was actually one of the better NF flicks I have watched for quite some good. Good stuff.

Watched that yesterday as well, I love Plaza. Like, a lot. Her appearance on Hot One’s, at one point she looks at the dude and just says “F*ck you” to him and it was the hottest thing I’ve ever seen. :rofl

I dug it, even if, looking back, it was kind of flat the entire time. Like the exciting parts weren’t edge-of-the-seat exciting, just “Oh, that’s not good” kind of exciting. I’d watch a movie of her watching grass grow.

The wife and I watched Emily the Criminal last night as well. I thought it was good, and you described it perfectly. A little flat, but decent watch. I like her style.

I’ll take this opportunity to push “Black Bear” again. Really bizarre and pretty dark, but she’s awesome in it.

Also - I *loved* her in Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates. Her and Anna Kendrick cracked me up. (Plus Zac Efron and Adam Devine).

I'll have to check it out. There's another Bear movie coming out soon-ish that looks completely nutso :rofl

That’s another one I started watching but ended up doing something else. I have that problem a lot of times I try watching something. :bag

I love psychological thrillers, which I think Black Bear falls under, I know there’s some psychological f*ckery in it and Plaza, good enough.

My wife was just watching episode 2 of The Periphery and I was like what the hell is that? She said it’s good and is talking me into it.

It's a good one. I really enjoyed it. Although I thought the first season didn't have enough resolution for my tastes. Seemed like everything was setting up for next season. But it was enjoyable.

That’s definitely fair. The ending seem a bit abrupt; while it definitely built up to it, the last 10 minutes were like “OH, snap…you’re goin’ there….ok…didn’t see that one coming and I‘m not sure I understand it, but cool!”

I’m also a sucker for former military guys bringing justice, lol.

Another series I enjoyed was The Terminal List with Chris Pratt! I wanted another season when that was done!

Anybody watching The Inside Man or Devil In Ohio? Got through ~one episode of each and just couldn't do it. Devil In Ohio in particular is just so... slow... Getting kind of an afterschool special vibe. Just wondering if either of these are worth the investment. It's a fine line between a "slow starter" and a "whoops".
