"There's only two syllables in this whole wide world worth hearing..."
Chevy Chase. Haven't watched but I bet JC is spilling the tea
Good guest list on this! I'll have to check it out.I watched the Full Moon Freak Show episode this is from.
Charles Band can be a bit repetitive sometimes, but when he has a great guest, they have a great discussion.Good guest list on this! I'll have to check it out.
^We really enjoyed the other seasons of White Lotus. Probably give the new one a go.
Woked and boked to Heretic this morning (just popped up on Max)
Enjoyed it a lot!! Love me some A24 mind fuckery
Oh very cool. I've been wanting to see that one for months. I have Max, so I'm going to try to get my wife to see it with me.
What was one of your longstanding problems? PM ME BROFinished up School Spirits. Speaking of teen angst. Good wrap up and a spot where I can step off and not return unless the mood strikes next go round.
Keeping on with new Reacher and digging it muchly as always. Also started new Daredevil which is very solid so far. Always great fights in that one and one of my long standing problems with it is no longer an issue![]()
OMG, if you have never seen it, check out "The Devils" (1971) with Vanessa Redgrave and Oliver Reed! I would describe it as a surreal philosophical Shaekspearean drama with occasional soft porn, horror and some hallucinogenic scenes ;~)) There is a good 20 phrases in that film that I am going to make short clips of and post on Youtube if they are not there already (one example is "It's not everyday that baby gets to see daddy burn" while dude is being burned at the stake)! I was LOL a lot of the movie, and the rest of the time my jaw was on the floor! Total trip!! Of course, right before I started watching it, I found out that it was based on a book "The Devils of Loudun" by Aldous Huxley, so I knew I was in for some kind of intense experience even though I had never read the book. AND this is supposedly written about sh!t that actually happened in Loudon France in the 17th century.
Funny, I was prepared to bail after 10 minutes myself, but decided to see where they would go with this! I am glad I watched the whole thing, but as my GF stated after it was over "I don't need to see that again". I agree with her ;~)) As for Oliver Reed, I read a bit about him after watching that movie and apparently he was listed as the 5th most recognized actor in Great Brittain in 1971 (which is when this film was released). He was also apparently a VERY heavy drinker and difficult to work with but he was in the biz for 40 years. Anyway, wow in so many ways on that film!Holy shit! I tried to watch that a few years ago, and I had to bail after maybe twenty minutes; my wife was just saying "What is this shit?" And I never went back to try it on my own. Ken Russell is an assault on the senses, Man. He also directed Alterted States, which has some of the most over the top dynamic range of any movie that almost made me deaf. I do want to see more Oliver Reed films, because he just seems like an insane asshole, but that movie, what I saw of it, was just too extreme for words, to the point where it was ineffective to me. I saw the end of it somewhere this past year, and again, I was thinking this guy has no nuance. The mixing of the violin at the end was just over the top. It reminded me of this one part of Nostaghia by Tarkovsky, very much the same over the top aural assault.
