What are we watching now?

My wife and I binged Day of the Jackal. FYI - It has nothing to do with real-life Carlos the Jackal.

It was pretty enjoyable, odd in that you end up rooting for the bad guy. I won't spoil anything but apparently it diverges from the book in some ways that will allow them to do a season 2.

The trouble with trying to setup multiple characters and plotlines over many season is what I think of as the Game of Thrones problem – once the toast of the world picking up a swag of Grammies every year,, by the end of Season 8 it was a hopeless joke everyone despised and said so loudly.

The model set up by Joss Whedon with Buffy was to have a season arc and Big Bad every year while the characters you liked continued. Splitting Angel off and having Buffy reborn (Dawn was the damn key!) killed it for me. It became so popular the Studio wanted 2 shows so the first suffered, imho.

Does anyone prefer Season 7 Sopranos to Seasons 1-4?

I hope it works out for them. I liked Yellowstone until I didn’t.

I've never seen Buffy. I just stick to the movie with Paul Reubens, Kristy Swanson (major hotty!), Donald Sutherland, and Rutger Hauer.
