What are we watching now?

The model set up by Joss Whedon with Buffy was to have a season arc and Big Bad every year while the characters you liked continued. Splitting Angel off and having Buffy reborn (Dawn was the damn key!) killed it for me. It became so popular the Studio wanted 2 shows so the first suffered, imho.
I've never seen Buffy. I just stick to the movie with Paul Reubens, Kristy Swanson (major hotty!), Donald Sutherland, and Rutger Hauer.

Rewatching Severance before starting the new season. I’ve already realized that I’d missed some details. What an incredible show.
That's a good idea, we watched the new episode and were like "what?!?" trying to remember what happened...there is a recap, but it's super brief.

Also finished American Primeval - it was really good, some great cinematography and cool music from This Will Destroy You.

The first time around, I missed a lot of foreshadowing and a lot of small details, for example, the work they actually do at Lumon.

On another note, did anyone see this? Pretty genius marketing:

Just finished Shogun a few days ago. Fantastic.

Tonight started American Primeval - pretty intense from the get go.

Really enjoyed Shogun. About to dive into American Primeval this weekend.

Historical fiction when it is well done is some top notch TV. :chef

Did you by chance see The English?

What is Americna Primeval about? Thought about binging it but too lazy to research :ROFLMAO:
I'll use Netflix's synopsis as I feel any more detail would ruin some of it. It's inspired by true events.

American Primeval is a fictionalized dramatization and examination of the violent collision of culture, religion, and community as men and women fight and die for control of this world. The ensemble tells a story of the sacrifice all must pay when they choose to enter the lawless and brutal frontier.

Yeah it seemed vague revenge western kinda vibe. There are some good people in it and some others that are not so good so I was not 100% convinced. Shogun seems like a better bet for me given my cultural tastes.

Rewatched Hereditary again for the first time in forever. What a FANTASTIC goddamn movie this is. I truly forgot. If you are a person that thinks no one makes good movies anymore and you love psychological horror; its a must see. Prove yourself wrong.

Smarter than my usual horror tastes but a masterpiece with the bonus of some of the best performances I've ever seen. Creepy story, atmospheric, great score and killer visuals. Phenomenal.

I saw this in the cinema. A couple of teen girls began giggling when the son started banging his head on the table in class. This proved infectious because the chuckling started rippling throughout the audience. This snowballed and by the end of it we were falling around with laughter. We couldn't keep it together.

Probably my funniest cinema going experience. Up there with Team America.

I'll probably watch it again on my own at some point. The audience was completely gripped for the first half. There was even a deathly silence among the crowd after the pivotal incident as we were in shock.

I don't know why it went the other way after.

I CAN see a Friday night teenage horror audience going "what the fuck family drama bullshit is this?". I saw it in the theater and loved it. I think it's a work of art. Not everybody likes the same stuff though. Curious to see if you do end up liking it if you give it another go. It reminds me a lot of the Shining actually.
