UAFX Knuckles ‘92 Rev F Dual Rec - leak?

Just highlights how dumb it is having important features only accessible from the iPhone app. Guaranteed everyone on YouTube who’s shilling this pedal will leave the master at default values and will miss all the best tones. That MV needs to be accessible and dialled lower.

When the plugin is inevitably released it’ll probably be killer because it’ll address basically all of the flaws of the pedal, and we’ll have a proper end to end model of a golden unit Rev F rectifier with all channels, modes and a good GUI. and a company with a solid track record of stability and updates and support.

Guessing the next plugin update will have 3 more amps (dumbly/5150/recto) and some more DSP->Native ports.

Side note - winds me up when YouTubers brag about their ignorance on this stuff. If you can’t make a rectifier sound good, it’s on you.

Needing an iphone app to be able to access some of those parameters is such a “we failed at designing the pedal so we’ll just rely on an app to do the bits that were too hard”.

I dig UAD but it’s just a failed design if you can’t make it work on the pedal alone. The plugin version will be a ripper. The pedals are a hard swerve.

Not sure if its Hennings settings or setup or the actual modelling but zipping through the sounds in the video it sounded like a fuzz pedal was constantly engaged. Sanity checked a few other dual rec videos (real amp) and doesnt sound as fuzzed out in general.

Yeah, if/when the 5150/recto drop in plugin form I'll be keen

Yeah thought the same from what I skimmed through.....sounded super fuzzy

is it still brainworx doing these amps for UAD? afaik all the UAD amps with their unison Apollo system thing was brainworks contracted

This might be their dumbest pedal yet. Master volume in the app, for a master volume amp?

This is like the culmination of UA designing their pedals by doing the bare minimum in hardware. The UA pedals are built exactly like Strymons where they are a main PCB + control PCB. Thus they could have easily made a control board where there's a few extra mini pots for example.

But instead they have cheaped out and just make a different paint job on the same chassis and then try to figure out how to make that work for whatever effect they are trying to do.

Nah, Brainworx used to be a 3rd party developer for UAD's DSP platform. Those plugins didn't have anything to do with UAD aside from them running on their platform. Those were coded by Igor Nembrini of Nembrini. Softube also had a few amp sims on UAD's platform, and UA themselves coded the Fender 55 (the basis for Woodrow) and some pedals.

All the current stuff is done completely in house by UAD. I like Nembrini but his amp sims are not on the level of UA (or even Softube).

hmmmm. There's something weird in the distortion that I noticed in the Anti too. Can't see Fluff's settings but its not sounding amazing here to me. Need real world examples to know for sure

Treadplate = Lawsuit

Play authentic.

post-gibson mesa money i get that, but give it at least something that alludes to the resemblance of contrast, even the dream 65 knobs would be more visual callback to the intended reference amp.

I just think they realized how many they are actually going to sell, and how much more extra they can make with vanilla knobs and zero paint. IT'S A BRICK. and I just paid overnight shipping for it.

I could listen to beginner guitar lessons through this clipping for the rest of my life and not get tired of the sound. it's nourishing
