The Food Thread

Visit some minor European countries as well! One of my favorites is Croatia!! It's like Italy at half price (at least that is what it was like when I was there 8 or so years ago) ;~)) A lot of billionaires yachts parked up and down that country's coast because it is so beautiful and it is not as crowded as the "major" European countries! Check out Slovenia as well, especially if you want to check out a bunch of castles!!!

A girl can dream. These aspects of Europe can only be known when you have been there.

I live in a low-rent neighborhood. You get the picture. Dreams are gonna be dreams.

I wondered it that was that. What does it taste like? I am assuming it's completely it's own thing and you just have to try it to know.
It's quite rich and slightly iron metallic like, with a pleasing pepper warmth from a good one. Try to avoid ones with big lumps of fat in they're often not as good. I've loved it since I was a kid, but no one in my now household is on board with it 😂

My mum is Scottish so been eating stuff like this and haggis from early days.

Tempura Sushi? Really??

Took my 80 Year Old Mom to get Sushi. :knit

I didn't know that a Tempura Philadelphia Roll was a thing. Holy Mackerel! It is amazing. :love

My Mom is like, "This is my new favourite Restaurant."

Win! :banana

Had some Dried Chiles here (Ancho, Arbol, Hatch, and Guajillo) that I rehydrated
and mixed with Roasted Tomato, Onion, and Garlic in a Blender for a base to make
some Chile Colorado using Pork. Braised it all day on the stove. :chef

At our favorite Sushi restaurant, they have two tempura rolls (though not the Philly role) and I love them both. They also do a tempura veggie selection which is nice too! You get the healthy stuff (carrots, zuchini, broccoli, cauliflower) prepared using an unhealthy method! Win win ;~)) Awesome that your Mom has a new favorite eatery, good on you to get her out there!!

Am I the only one that eats chili with corn bread? When I lived in Colorado, I was shocked that literally nobody did. I'll do rice if I'm trying to watch my calorie intake, but man, nothing beats some sweet homemade cornbread with jalapeños.

By coincidence I made chili yesterday, I used ground beef, hot Italian sausage, and roast pork. White pepper, black pepper, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, and some Carolina Reaper puree brought the heat.

This stuff is the real deal! As they used to say "A little dab'll do you."

Made enough for six meals, froze four.

My wife's from california and her grandma would come back to haunt her if we ate Chili with anything but cornbread.
