Tempura Sushi? Really??

Took my 80 Year Old Mom to get Sushi.

I didn't know that a Tempura Philadelphia Roll was a thing. Holy Mackerel! It is amazing.

My Mom is like, "This is my new favourite Restaurant."

Win!

Had some Dried Chiles here (Ancho, Arbol, Hatch, and Guajillo) that I rehydrated
and mixed with Roasted Tomato, Onion, and Garlic in a Blender for a base to make
some Chile Colorado using Pork. Braised it all day on the stove.

Where do you buy your dried chilies? I was looking on Amazon (not available locally) and there are many reviews about mold or other contaminates.

At our favorite Sushi restaurant, they have two tempura rolls (though not the Philly role) and I love them both. They also do a tempura veggie selection which is nice too! You get the healthy stuff (carrots, zuchini, broccoli, cauliflower) prepared using an unhealthy method! Win win ;~)) Awesome that your Mom has a new favorite eatery, good on you to get her out there!!

Am I the only one that eats chili with corn bread? When I lived in Colorado, I was shocked that literally nobody did. I'll do rice if I'm trying to watch my calorie intake, but man, nothing beats some sweet homemade cornbread with jalapeños.

By coincidence I made chili yesterday, I used ground beef, hot Italian sausage, and roast pork. White pepper, black pepper, red pepper flakes, cayenne pepper, and some Carolina Reaper puree brought the heat.

This stuff is the real deal! As they used to say "A little dab'll do you."

Made enough for six meals, froze four.

Badia brand is pretty reliable and can be found in a lot of places. I buy a lot
of their stuff for anything Latin or Carribean based. I bought these at the
local store.

I confess to being a full-on, no-holds barred, unapologetic Chili Slut.

I like it all. Give it to me!

All Bean. No Bean. Pork. Beef. With Rice. Without. Cornbread. Ho Cakes. Tortillas.

Red. Green. White.

Chicken. Hominy---which is DELICIOUS in Chili. Corn. Mushrooms. Hell I have
tossed Cinnamon Sticks and Chocolate in Chili before.

Chili Is Life!

In a similar vein, my GF thinks that nachos that do not have green chiles on them are NOT nachos! To me, the only required ingredients on nachos are tortilla chips and cheese. All else is optional ;~))

Man, I hope someday Food and Gear are both broadly realized as a Build Your Own Experience,
versus the borderline religious and ideological fervor some seem to swear is required.

Bought some more fruit flies and got some free produce with my prucahse, @norminal .
