Here is some Electro Pagan in 7/4 for ya. The last tune for our upcoming Vanir Wars album. This forum is the first I post it in. Is it danceable to you despite the odd meter? I tried to make it so :pickle

That's cool as fuck! That's the kind of stuff I was hoping I was going to come up with when I got EastWest's Play subscription that had all the world instrument sample libraries but that's definitely not how that worked out. Tight work!

I decided to do something weird with this one. This is a lo-fi/hip-hop beat that utilizes some unusual plugins I discovered.

These plugins consist of:
- Delay Lama
- LOFI Plastic Piano
- Fantasi
- DuckphoneVST
- DSK Music Box

Damn, this is getting frustrating. The original file had a rendering error (audible click), but SoundCloud didn't just let me replace the erroneous file (I'd need an Artist subscription for that), so I had to delete the track and upload the 2nd version as a new track. I re-uploaded the track a couple of minutes ago but then realized I rendered the file with the wrong locator settings in Cubase, so the end was cut off. Deleted again. Awesome, this crap fits in with an already shitty week.

So here is my 3rd attempt to post my contribution. I think this time the file is okay. :idk

I actually tried to tell a little story in 2 minutes. In short, it's about a quiet and peaceful place that is gradually descending into darkness and destruction by the arrival of a giant monster. Police sirens, people in panic, a monster smashing up buildings... you know the drill. Yeah, I know it‘s dumb, but I had fun with it.

Nice! The track gave me suspense sequence video game soundtrack-vibes. Like something out of Xenogears!

I have already posted one tune this season. However, it was the last for our third album, so I wonder if collecting already finished tracks for an album is “doing something” too? I will take the chance and release it in this thread instead of a seperate one because I like the company and appreciation here. Hope it is okay with you.

So it came to pass that Tribe Of Hofund released our third album since 2022, Vanir Wars. There are enough albums now to speak of traditions. One is that you will always find at least one tune in 5/4, one in 6/4 and one in 7/4 on the albums preserving the art of odd and compound meters. Often you will find more.

Another is that all the drama always has a happy end. The first album, Dawn over Folkvang, ended with a wonderful dance by Freja. The second album, Underworld Whispers, ended with Odin experiencing the grace of the surface light when he returned from his journey to the underworld, learning about Ragnarok and his own death. In Vanir Wars, we shall witness the happy return of the ships once the war between Aesir and Vanir is over.

The right chronology of tunes is as follows:
  1. Rise of the Vanir
  2. Call of Vanaheimr
  3. Gullveig’s Three Resurrections
  4. The Firedawn March
  5. Berserker Trance
  6. The Siege
  7. The Treaty
  8. Return of The Ships
Pagan Folky like hell, cannot help it, not for everyone I know. I was completely enthralled by Mike Oldfield when I was kid. But I hope you will enjoy the ride if you take it.
