I only listened enough to realize I need to hear this on good speakers cuz an iPad ain’t gonna cut it! I can’t wait to hear this, I heard some sound effects stuff in there that’s got me excited already!

I don't know how to mix down to mono. :bag

So I think it probably only works right in a stereo playback field.

There’s a button on the Stereo Out to switch to mono but I‘d need to see the mixer to point it out, I’ll post it up when I get home. Honestly, I’ve never mixed in mono. While those little speakers are popular and whatnot, I 100% mix my stuff to be enjoyed with headphones on and spend way more time than I should on ear candy with certain things, mono can eat my assnballs!

Am I nuts for hearing a bit of McLaughlin and Mahavishnu Orchestra meets Ministry meets Metal??

Man, I wish I was that creative and adept. Fucking eh, man!! :rawk

Good call, I’m gonna order a Mastodon thesaurus now!

Mammoth Thesaurus. It is not a Dinosaur. It is a Prog Rock Masterpiece. One that will improve your vocabulary,
and make you literate enough to annoy the fuck out of your family and friends.

Alright I’m dropping my submission for my own sanity. (I CANT HANDLE THE PRESSURE) Straight up overwhelming trying to record something for the first time. Sometimes you remember to tune, sometimes you check levels, sometimes the DAW cooperates. :ROFLMAO: In retrospect I could have spent more time writing but I was a bit hurried to get anything down so I could fight with the DAW, so lots of teenager garage rock and bad play in here. lol Overlook the shitty cut-ins riddled throughout the track and my decision to try to do a lead, as a chug-head. :rofl

Guitar: Les Paul
Clean: Archtype Plini
Lead: SLO
Rhythm: Fortin Cali
Drums: One Kit Wonder (Metal)
Bass: Big Stack in Logic (Done with my guitar :ROFLMAO:)
Mix: Neutron 4
Master: Ozone 10 Standard

Drew thanks for doing this. I bailed on trying to record anything a couple years ago after cussing the first go round with Logic. Nice to put some of the gear to use. :beer

That reminded me of Dream Theater in some parts and I love the use of the audio clips! Hahahah I was waiting for an "I know all about the honor of God, Mary Jane" :ROFLMAO: Great tones and lots of cool turn arounds. It's so interesting hearing these drum tracks after other people get a hold of them! That turning-the-radio-dial was awesome!!!

This is another case of me expecting the worst and because of all the crap you said and not getting delivered the worst by any means! Love that clean tone and are you stacking both the SLO and Fortin from 1:47 on? Regardless, it sounds great and I love that turnaround at 1:47!

Really, this goes for everyone who isn't used to recording; it's one thing to get your gear set up and working when you're not familiar with DAWs or anything like that and everyone has been going a step further and getting their recording rig set up AND writing something on it right off the bat. I'm really, really stoked about that! Had I eaten more Apple Jacks earlier, I'd probably be choked up right now!

I didn’t even listen to this before I hit like; you’re predictable as fuck when it comes to tunes my guy, I knew I’d love it.

So glad you’re here to do drumjams mang.

All the clean parts are the Simon Grove preset Mellow Clean from Plini. That plug-in is a clean machine. I used the SLO preset Alive for the solo. All the crunchy stuff is Nolly’s preset Chokehold from the Fortin Cali plug. I went straight to his preset because on top of figuring out the DAW and mixing, I didn’t want to be dicking around dialing in tones.

Haha. I’m choked up it’s over! (FOR ONE WEEK)

Though tbh, I don’t think some of those cut-ins are going to sit well with me. (or that the bass is non existent listening to it outside of my gear room) My bi-weekly contribution will be a remix. (No solos, all stank :ROFLMAO: )

Really cool to hear the music in your guys' heads. Some really sick tones, good playing, well balanced mixes - taking me for a lot of rides.

Under promise/over deliver at its finest from some of you Nervous Nelly's. It's gonna be a trip looking back on all of this stuff after we've been doing it a while.

I'm hoping to demo all the songs I've written using GarageBand on my iPad to limit my ability to get lost tweaking things :)
Plan to add real drums after I finish all the songs and tighten up parts and performances

iPad, GarageBand
AxeFx III Teeerbo
Fender Telecaster & Strat & PRS S2 singlecut all w/ Zexcoils
Fender Jazz Bass w/ Zexcoils
SM7 direct into my AxeFx for vocals - no preamp

So last night, I went through and listened to everyone's submission. I quoted each one and had a great reply for each as they all kicked serious a$$ in their own ways :satan :chef :guiness:satan :chef We have so many submissions with great detail that the forum software wouldn't allow me to post it because of exceeding thread reply character limits :cuss

Thanks for the kind words and more than that; THANK YOU for all doing some killer clippage! This is going to be tough act to follow on a week to week basis :rofl
Dude that is exactly what happened to me on my first mega reply... something like 1000 character limit ffs...
