so I had a nice little RedSeven haul right before NAMM, but haven’t had a chance to pick the stuff up til this week.

I got their “The Dirt” amp last year and really dig it. Unfortunately the PT faulted and had to have it replaced. While it was waiting on the new PT, I talked to Luca about getting a facelift for the amp.

Since the original amp was a 50 watt Plexi mod to go specifically for some Mick Mars tones, and that’s what these production builds were based on, I wanted a more Crüe’ish vibe. I loved the whole Too Fast and Shout era, so red/black seemed the obvious choice. Plus, it fits the whole JerEvil vibe as well! Lol.

The guys at RedSeven were able to get me sorted on the new front and back panels but also were kind enough to shoot me out their new AmpCentral Evo and noise gate pedal.

I’ve been using the Torpedo Studio for almost 9 years now think and it was time for an update. I’d talked to Luca at NAMM 2 years ago and he offered to send me the previous version to try out when they got more in stock, but also told me they were working on a successor. I told him I’d rather wait for the new one, so here we are. I’ll be running it through the KHE 4x4 FX. The nice thing is I can use presets for each amp and also run the gate in 4-cable method across all the amps with presets as well since the pedal is midi programmable.

Now I just need to figure it all out. Lol!

Anyway, a bit of before and after on the amp.

Clips! What do you think of it? The red looks awesome.
Oh the amp is killer. Nails the modded Plexi thing for sure. I used it at rehearsal for my AC/DC tribute and was great for that too. Had the Gain at like 9:00! lol!

Yep. Red looks best \m/
Yeah man I’m really glad they were able to get the plates done. Honestly those guys are super fucking cool. They really love gear, which may sound like a silly thing to say but Luca and Sebastiano are real gear nerds. The stuff they build sounds amazing and they have a great design eye. I think they’ve got the best looking aesthetic for their amps that I’ve seen in a long time. Thankfully the shit sounds as good as it looks.

I need to do a vid of my D100 preamp. It’s kind of their take on the Ecstacy.
