I can’t really get it. Like he says he wasn’t the first person to have that amp circuit, he only got one after begging Reinhold. What’s his angle? Did he trademark the name or something, or is he saying Bogners mod is somehow patented?
Dude sounds salty he no longer holds the unobtainium.
More like "teh Dorkler"..I can’t really get it. Like he says he wasn’t the first person to have that amp circuit, he only got one after begging Reinhold.
He might have come up with the name but he’s failing to accept that:
- The name is crap
- he could call it whatever he likes, it doesn’t mean he owns the circuit. Whatever it got famous as, it’s Reinhold’s creation and it got attention because famous bands used it.
I don't know why people keep saying that about Reza's vids.Mr. Nielson's video is, as always, great! Reza's is horrible.

I for one, find his stuff as good as anything out there.
Yeah I agree. I could see how some of his tones could sit in certain mixes better but if you’re going to just record the amp sound all on it’s own might as well for demo purposes make it sound good on its own.I haven’t gone down the Reza rabbit hole to read his own words about his videos and I get that he mics/records the amps in a “This is how you’d do it in a recording” way, but that’s just not how I want to hear an amp demo. It’s like “mix-ready” IR’s, what works for one mix doesn’t work for another. Just too much top end that’s not reflective of any amp I’ve ever stood in front of, but more like ‘Here’s a 57 right over the cone”.
I don’t know if he tweaks things in post or just finds the mic placement that brings out that amount of top end, but I don’t find it pleasing to listen to in an amp demo.
That dude has some issues it seems. Good luck with that frivolous lawsuit numb nuts.Being precious about THIS amp name (of all other amp names besides Dave Freidman ones) is insane

$20 is $20I paid someone to do something for me that that same person also did for others previously.
Once he did it for me it became mine, and only mine.
It's true, I've owned a Rev 2, spent some time with a TJ and owned the Ultra.I’m really curious how this feels to play. My biggest gripe with the Shiva is that it’s not a ‘fast’ amp, great for slower playing but when I start getting into shreddy stuff there’s not nearly enough attack at the start of a note and it ends up feeling like the amp is dragging behind me. I’ve heard this about Bogner’s in general, kind of like the ‘Bogner’s are dark’ thing.

I have to say the Ultra is definitely the best amp I've had but it could be a little faster.
With enough dialing and time I could get it to an acceptable point but that's the one thing Bogners do lack imo (besides a noise gate)
I find my Ultra very responsive and of course that’s very subjective so YMMV. My Shiva 20th is definitely more of softer feel and not a super quick one. My bench mark for responsive amps is a plexi that’s not stupid dimed. I’ve never played a Bogner that’s that responsive but with amps that have more gain I think some Bogners do very well and don’t have that more filtered stiffness of other high gain amps that I tend not to like. It’s always a hunt and balance with gain amps for me when it comes to feel. It's true, I've owned a Rev 2, spent some time with a TJ and owned the Ultra.

I agree I feel like it's just so close to being where it needs to be in that area, like 90% there. The thing that really helped me was the morph control. Once I fully understood how that worked I was able to get it a little closer to what I wanted. If I could change just one thing about it, that'd be it!
The Cantrell fanboy in me digs it, but it can certainly feel like running in mud when playing leads or fast rhythms.
I had the 6l6 version, I'm not sure if the KT or el34 is any different. Don't get me wrong like I said I've had a lot of great amps and that one has definitely been the best. I just cannot say honestly that for fast death metal type of immediate response that it would excel in that area, it definitely works, is more than useable for any genre including fast dm and gets the job done I'm just saying it could be a little faster.I find my Ultra very responsive and of course that’s very subjective so YMMV. Yeah I don’t play death metal so can’t speak there either. Hey we all liked what we like and people’s feel sensitivity is a very varied thing I’m sure and that’s all good. I have the el34 version and it’s a solid good tone. My bandmate’s and I were messing around with some System of a Down tunes in drop C for shits and grins and the Uber was delivering very well for me and my tastes. I can see that maybe not for fast death metal… I’m sure it may not be for someone’s tastes thereI agree I feel like it's just so close to being where it needs to be in that area, like 90% there. Either way you look at it though the snorkel sounds incredible as does every other Bogner amp I have heard or played. They are amazing products, I just wish the ultra got a little bit of a faster response.

So what do you guys think of this amp so far?
Seems dope as all hell.
I’m romancing the punch from the power section of the upcoming 100 watt Snorkler.
Dual amp set-up:
100 watter for rhythm,
50 watter for leads.
I bet blending the Snorkler with the Shiva would be
butter on the potatoes.
Huge bandwidth of midrange roar in the Snorkler.
Have you tipped over to Mark V with the reviews here or still eyeing a IV or JP?I’d love to hear the amps blended. I really just want to hear a Snorkler in person at all. I still want a Mesa Mark before any other amp, but the Snorkler will probably be the next amp I drool over until I get.
