I have to admit, the Catalyst 60 I owned for less than 24 hours was a little underwhelming, but the added models really has me rethinking these.

The speaker was the main reason I ended up not keeping mine. A head would have solved that problem.

I’m also not a big proponent of open-back cabs. Though that can probably be remedied with some plywood.

And I just realized that with the Grammatico model, that makes this the most affordable (AFAIK) Dumble amp combo on the market.

I like the Cats in general, but v2 is a little disappointing in that the controls operate the same way as v1 (the amp selector knob, the effects buttons with the embedded LEDs, etc.). I was hoping those things would be tweaked a bit to be a little more user friendly.

I haven’t compared them physically, but I’m guessing they were able to reuse the existing panel layout for the CX.

Hmm I've been looking at small combos for taking to jam nights and my friends house. I had been looking at a vox ac10 or ac15 but might check one of these out.

Catalyst 2.01 Firmware Update

For a little more money you can buy a good 100W heavy iron tube head, a WAZA Tae, a nice 2x12 cab and a nice assortment of drives and modulation effects and sound MUCH better ...

Definitely. I think the target market is for individuals seeking plug-n-play simplicity

Exactly. If it sounds decent it would be great for taking to my mates house or a jam night at my local. My jvm is a bit overkill for that.

For a little more money you could trade in your Elantra and buy a Ferrari
