The speaker was the main reason I ended up not keeping mine. A head would have solved that problem.

I haven’t compared them physically, but I’m guessing they were able to reuse the existing panel layout for the CX.I like the Cats in general, but v2 is a little disappointing in that the controls operate the same way as v1 (the amp selector knob, the effects buttons with the embedded LEDs, etc.). I was hoping those things would be tweaked a bit to be a little more user friendly.
Catalyst 2.01 includes six additional amp models derived from our Helix® family of processors, along with the ability to use any two of the 24 on-board effects at a time. There are also some improvements in how you access the different effects, and new visual cues for the different amp functions.
