Looking for new 50 watt modelling amps

@Digital Igloo on the catalyst series it appears as if it uses a standard TRS input for the footswitch input. Would a regular 2 button footswitch work or is there something special in the catalyst pedal?

I got to try out the LT50 yesterday and it was awesome. Very very similar to the mustang gtx 50. Perfect speaker emulator out. But it shares the other mustangs Uber downside of proprietary footswitches. None of the momentary or sustained switches I tried worked. Does anyone know how the MGT4 switch is wired? It said there were two other fender switches that could work, the ms4 and the ult 4 or something

Are they like resistance networks or something? Trying to figure out how they could work. I had the whole setup plus the expression pedal for a mustang 4, I should have taken it apart and had a look

Elastic at vguitarforums.com would probably know. They probably have a Mustang sub over there with the info.

I used the VT20X for years (and demoed the VT40X as well). Whatever you want to say about Andertons reviews/Rob, the Vox amp felt and sounded really really good. I only ended up selling it early this year because of the lack of a FX-loop.

Yeah - a couple of us here wish Vox would make a digital amp that’s gigable, but I doubt that’s in the cards.
Did you choose an amp yet?
I love my Catalyst for the plug-and-play experience. The deeper editing and line out are fine, but it’s definitely geared toward the non-tweaker.

I still use my old box ad120 vax combos and head with box cab… as well as ad60vtx and vtx300 amps

Catalyst is at the top of the list, so far havent bought any, we've been buying Mustang 3's used and one new LT50
I love my Catalyst 200, but I'm probably going to sell it soon. I'm just going in a different direction with tube amp heads and cabs and need the space.

Are you in Hawaii? If you were in the lower 48, I would make you a hell of a deal on it, but I think shipping to HI would probably cost about as much as I would want for the amp, lol...

Are you wanting a modeller so it has a bunch of built-in effects? If not, and you basically just need an amp that will do clean through to classic rock and no metal, the Blues Cubes are worth a look.

I remember always wanting one of the first gen Vox Valvetronix amps. I had a later gen cheap one that wasn’t great. I think the early ones used a tube for preamp and power amp gain right? They were also fairly well made with a quality cab and speaker.
