Namm 2025 predictions

And there's also this:

Ok, I gotta admit that the Tone King Imperial pedal has my needle moving. I really don't exactly have a need for it, wouldn't exactly fit into the concept of my current board and I'm pretty much sorted regarding all things recording - but still, from what I've heard so far, the tone of the amp (which I always loved) seems to be pretty much there.
Guess it's gonna be quite expensive, so it'll fortunately be way out of my impulse buying leeway.

Yeah the Tone King isn’t my sort of sound personally, but that did sound stellar. Pete’s demo in particular was amazing.

I wish they would do that IRX thing with the SLO just through that in a pedal and that would be killer
I think they may but Synergy is kind of like NDSP slow as molasses

Says "sick gear" and shows 100% bog standard stuff. NAMM 2025 in a nutshell.
Well it hipped me on to the Korneff Shure Loc-Level ug which I'm demoing right now and I really dig.

FWIW in over 30 Namm shows I suffered through was the interesting stuff at ground or above level.
Always in the basement.

And when I'm at it, I'm.no fan of "influencers" in general but fuck me ever since it more or less became a public show it's been lame AF.

It ain't a damn music store...I go shake my fists at clouds...

Fwiw, I actually wanted the exact opposite. An analog frontend for a digital amp/fx unit.

Yes, that's what I've been asking for for years. I'm not hopeful from existing digital brands though. Time will tell.
But my post was more in relation to what the amp brands can do to close the gap between digital alternatives.

Ok, I re-watched (or rather re-listened) the Tone King Imperial pedal videos, this time at volume and through headphones, and I gotta say that I don't remember when a DI amp box has impressed me that much (which is also why I explicitely went to relisten, just to make sure I was right or wrong the first time). Has "weight" without getting boomy and "chime" without getting shrill. And tons of that.
Will wait for some proper demos and maybe try to play one myself somewhere once they're available. A very important thing for me would be how well it reacts to dynamics and how well it'll take pedals, but given the sound so far, I could only imagine it to master both extremely well.
Anyhow, while it's possibly too early too tell, this is a pedal I could imagine building a rig around rather than trying to integrate it into an existing rig, simply because it's so great you don't need all that much anymore anyway (2-3 more drive/boost pedals, a flexible delay and maybe some modulation, done).
F*** it, I actually don't want to change my rig. But we shall see.

You have read my mind.
Honestly at this point I feel like I might as well be looking at the Astro since if I got a Syn20 I would put an SLO 2module in it

My understanding is that the clean on the Synergy is the same and the purple and red galaxies are basically the SLO 2 crunch / OD
