Namm 2025 predictions

Maybe in 2025 we'll all make some music instead!!

I’ve got a NUX Amp Core Studio on the way from Hong Kong. I’m betting it kicks the crap out of the Boss IR-200 I tried and returned.

It looks like a lot of pedal for $140. We’ll see. I’m a sucker for small amp modelers with a headphone out and effects loop. My 15 year old self dreamed about that type of technology back in the day. Ought to be fun even if I flip it. Thankful it has 1024 IR’s. I just can’t tolerate 512 and NUX seems stuck on that for some of their products including the new MG-300 MKII… Which is unfortunate IMO.

That circle guitar needs the ability to changing tunings so slide players can go full right hand strategically muting and tapping etc. while slide (left hand) dictates the chords and a expression pedal to do speed of the wheel.

Ampero is doing a great job at improving their stuff and is pretty much kicking everyone’s ass at the moment other than maybe Fractal

Line 6 honestly had just become the Thomas Blug of modelling many asking for something new but nothing seems to come and it’s sort of a boring conversation
Love DI and the staff but the wait for them to have something new and continuing Helix into year 11is not super exciting anymore
The continued lowering of prices on the LT are exciting for me.

I feel like the updated Boss VG launch was fumbled. It’s like they’re against their own product ever being cool.
I know Boss 13 pin gear decently well. Had a GR-55 and GP-10 at different times. All the booth demos I saw were atrocious, especially a Les Paul + 12 string acoustic patch I saw in several videos. It sounded scraping nails. I'm not going to rag on the demo players, they may be doing what they're told to get paid but every demo I saw sucked and I know that box can do better than that. Hell, the GP-10 could.

Do you know if the effects loop is stereo? The ebay listing I found didn't mention it, so I'm assuming its mono. Having a stereo loop on the ir-2 still blows my mind.

That neon orange, glow in the dark guitar is so nice.

Insane to me that they'd bring these guitars to NAMM, keep them secret but then just decide to let Andertons film them anyway?!?

I want all of the deets on the Sunset Extreme Exotic ASAP.

This sounds like the chatter of discontent about the HD series that was rampant right before they released Helix and changed the game.

I get wanting a new flagship, but who else is releasing completely new generations of hardware/software?

Kemper is entering year 13. Fractal's current gen started with the III released in early 2018, so 7 years old and counting there. Headrush is just bolting things onto Eleven Rack from 2009.

Objectively speaking, Line 6 is in the middle of that spectrum, "newer" than everyone but Fractal (and NDSP who obviously is a new-ish company altogether). Just releasing a Helix 2 with a smaller chassis, touchscreen and maybe profiling would make waves, but probably would not be too competitive over what's coming next from the competition.

Proper product development should take all of this in to account. You're building for a multi-year lifecycle, not a handful of cool NAMM videos...
