Namm 2025 predictions

They are specific devices. Certain amp models are very good, IME, others...not so much. They are quirky. They will never receive a firmware update. They have this weird dynamic of offering so much beyond just amp/cab, but being such a pain to edit most of it that its not worth trying to use beyond a basic reverb and an X-decibal clean boost. But, yeah, I prefer it over the other options in its size for "I just want a little digital amp box". I got my MK I used from GC for $120.
Most devices are specific. The MKII handles what I want well. I’m not sure about the MK-I, I’m not expecting a F/W update nor needing one. The unit functions great as is for me. A pedal sized modeler with various boosts/dirt, compression, amps, EQ, noise gate, cabs, delay and reverb. Just needs an aux in and effects loop for me to be completely happy. Again, $199. Perhaps the closest product is the Nux Amp Academy. Not the same ballpark IMO.

For me NAMM has been --->

Only thing that raised my eyebrow slightly was the EVH ""FRFR""

I actually do think that a good example of what the tube guys might do
It’s relatively compact but you have that $5000 price tag
Need to be more in the 2500 -3000

I think it's trying to do too much, tbh.
Personally I just want to be able to recall presets (as in, all knob values are saved).

Something like a led strip or led lights around each knob that tells you what the value is. Then a super small screen at the left or right side of the front panel with just a number that tells you which preset you're on. Auto-save values as you change. Then via MIDI you can switch presets.

So it's just acting as a digital frontend to the analog signal path, allowing you to recall values, i.e. presets.

The VHX almost tried getting into the modeler territory with a big screen, built-in effects, etc.
