I totally get this…Rush. I just can't stand the vocals. And for the same reason: Megadeth.
Sometimes you’ve got to let the music do the talking though

Laughs in the greatest punk band that ever existed. Aka the Ramones. Other than that; mostly agreed. Speaking of punk and someone I absolutely LOATHE on every measurable level; the Sex Pistols
I should agree but I kind of don't
I've always loved this one:
Here are the Top 40 songs from 1978. If anyone hears The Ramones in any of this you have better
ears than I do.
There is definitely cringe-worthy material here.

That certainly influenced The Ramones to write Blitzgibb Bop.Lots of songs written by the brothers Gibb in there…
You know what bubblegum pop is, right? That is the pop influence in the Ramones. I didn't know we were talking pop punk with pop that was exactingly specific to their timeframe vs. a punk band influenced by pop music throughout history.I. Don't. Know. Man.
Not sure The Ramones were
a) skilled enough
b) crafty enough
c) pretentious enough
to intentionally write a Pop song. If it happened it was accidental.
And I certainly don't hear the Pop Music of their time in their Punk Rock.

Observations:
- No matter how much we romanticize the past, every era has a lot of shitty music.
- I need to go listen to some Player.
