Sunday morning musings
  1. Changing views on the onboard footswitches seems faster than it used to be?
  2. Drives seem to interact with amps in a more natural way now
  3. Threw me off that reverbs default to “economy” mode on fm3. At first I thought maybe they weren’t as good as I remembered (they are)
  4. Old springs are as bad as I remember

They weren’t able to port the new spring reverbs over to the FM3. They’re pretty CPU hungry. But so worth it…

For some reason I thought the FM3 got the new spring reverbs? That is making me reconsider buying an FM3… maybe I should just go for the FM9 after all. Two things that are important for me are good spring reverb and variable input impedance. But the FM9 is so pricey…

How do the old fractal springs compare to helix hot springs?

I'm gonna get one. I don't think the VP4 will be enough for me. FM9 for rehearsals and shows, and Axe3 for home. That's where I'm heading.
That's what I do. It is a total luxury to be able to leave the Axe-FX III racked at home and the FM9 is more than powerful enough to do what I need when playing out. When not in use the FM9 sits in a rolling case ready to go out the door.
