Fractal’s gift of tone.

Many shows are completely automated now, with everything synched together and controlled by a computer.
Wow… i didnt realize that. Guess i am old school thinking where the players is responsible for turning stuff on and off

There was a trend of using a laptop as a hub for everything. A tempo/click for the drummer, midi info to auto switch patches on a modeller, also straight up audio backing tracks like extra synth or extra vocals.

I’ve been to many gigs where things have felt pretty lifeless because of this, but I guess I’ve also been to gigs where they’ve probably automated heaps of stuff and it’s still been good from a fan pov.

I get the BBE at the time .
Loop switchers even the good ones were huge tone sucks if you used them on the front end. They were ok at line level . Also series fx loops on old rack gear without analog dry through . The BBE made it sound more like they should have. The real answer was better loop switchers and parallel mixers. Then the BBE made you sound like Helix user.
